We've been pretty gash all season, but that awful start we had has really taken it's toll on us for the year. I think it took us eight games to get a win. I just hope that we can now get some consistency and grab another win this weekend.

What is it with this Derby team? Squad wise, it's easily one of the best in the league so why such a mediocre season? They were awful under big Nigel at the start of the year and then picked up after the return of the Mac but look absolute tosh again. Is the attitude of the players? Should Stevie Mac have come back? From an outsider looking in it's an odd one.

We're so unbalanced it's unbelievable, the only difference during the good run when Macca arrived was that we had 5/6 players performing really well. Now they've all dropped off form wise and injuries haven't been too kind either.
We haven't replaced Thorne (Out all year) and Martin (On loan at Fulham) and they're key players who play in key positions. Bradley Johnson and De Sart have been occupying CDM for us and they're just not good enough for that role. Same with Darren Bent upfront, he's scored a fair few but doesn't play the lone role like we need him to. On paper it looks a good squad but none of them are performing. We've got 12 games to try and see who's worth keeping and who's not.

Clear out in the summer needed, most of the players we've signed for big money recently either don't fit how we're going to play or are under-performing and should be replaced. If we can finish in the top 8 I'll be chuffed after our start to the season.

I like Thorne when I've seen him play but hasn't he missed a couple of seasons now due to long term injury?

He played 30 odd games last year but then had a double leg break against Ipswich right at the end of last season, he's only just started doing ball work but hopefully he'll be fit for the start of next year. He's a very good player but we'll see what he comes back like.

It's all well and good waiting for Thorne to come back but this will be the third year and we're still not pushing on partially down to not having him or replacing him. We need to get our recruitment absolutely spot on this summer.

Shame to see Vydra hasn't had any impact - very much a confidence player.

Anya been hit and miss as well?

Both have been disappointing but at the same time they haven't been given a fair crack in their favoured positions. At the same time neither of them have given our management a reason to keep them in, they just haven't nailed down their positions. It's clear to see Vydra's ability but it's just not happening for him here, be interesting to see if we give him some game time now the Play Offs are out of the question.

Anya has been hit and miss yeah but not a bad addition, his versatility is handy as we've been short in the full back positions all season so he's featured there often. The only issue I have is we paid 4 million pounds for him, good deal on your behalf but not for us, 29 years old and also given a 4 year contract.

Vydra was a bit in and out of the team for us even when he scored 20 goals in 12/13 so he just must be one of those players who managers don't trust fully.

Anya is all pace but not much end product which isn't great (and he hardly scored for us) - again like you say has an asset but doesn't produce enough in the final 3rd.
