I went tonight.
United started well then Southend score from their first attack.
Their winger crosses it in, our defender gets a block on it and it's spins and loops over our keeper. Probably a own goal but really lucky.

On 10 mins they send a ball over the top. Our defender shields it and let's it run for our keeper to collect. But amazingly our keeper stays on his line. The Southend striker up runs in and for some reason our keeper still stays on his line and they score an easy goal. Commical goalkeeping error.

On 12 minutes our defense is still in shock and fall asleep for another easy goal.

We're 3-0 down and the game has hardly started. Southend score 3 from their first 4 attacks.

For the remainder of the match Southend sit back and settle for the 3-0. We do loads of attacking but never look like scoring. Some great positions but our final ball is poor or goal mouth scrambles always seem to fall to a Southend defender.

Weird game, neither keeper had much to do.
Sheff Utd at 3-0 down were very low on confidence, lacked character and it ended up being a comfortable win for Southend. We really did gift them 3 goals though and both sides looked poor.

Don't disagree with that apart from the second goal. The way I saw it Long comes off his line, the defender is shielding it then Long panics and when their striker nabs it in the defence/GK pause Long is caught in no mans land. Their attack rounds him easily and passes to their player for an easy tap in.

For both the 2nd and 3rd goals I have to wonder where Wilson (/whoever covers Wilson) is. An easy tap in to an open goal from the right side of our 6 yard box.

He has the benefit of the doubt with me for now. Bring in a new goalkeeper and hopefully cm/CB and then we'll see. Our squad is very thin, no strength in depth at all, it's ridiculous.
