Hi there,
Thought you might be interested in the book Another Bloody Saturday: A Journey to the Heart and Soul of Football - available now on Amazon.
It has eight chapters on how I fell in love with Accrington Stanley and League Two football - the sports true soul in my mind.
As well as focusing on Stanley, it also features the clubs that they faced (Northampton, Tranmere, Portsmouth, Yeovil, York, carlisle, & Mansfield).
The book also dedicates chapters on Plymouth Argyle v Bury, Bristol Rovers (while they were in the conference) v Aldershot, and Dagenham & Redbridge v Wimbledon - along with some weird and wonderful adventures through non-league, The Faroe Islands, Bhutan, and an international match between two nations that 'don't exist'!
Nick Westwell
Chairman Official Accrington Stanley Supporters Club
This random guy came to watch Accy Stanley at our home ground at the back end of the 2013.14 season.
He was welcomed into the fold with open arms, we don’t have a lot of money here but what we do have is passion, commitment, encouragement, fun, togetherness and Mat will in his own words take you on that journey.
Mat is a genuine, warm, kind individual who cares about his footy.
This amazing story is a must read for any walk of life not just football fans.
You could say we have adopted each other in a short space of time, its a great potrait of Accrington Stanley Football club and hopefully when this publication hits the world our club can gain more support like Mat.
I hope that you might find this of interest
All the best
Mat
