Last time we hosted Leicester the back end of the year they went up, we lost due to a 96th minute Kevin Phillips poached tap in as I remember. That was a frustrating day after mostly matching a side destined to win the league that year. But it was an excellent sighter for us, and now we both find ourselves up here.

Excellent start for Leicester so far, after many people including myself thought Ranieri would go pear shaped. Still time!! Perhaps I'm just an ostrich with my head in the sand? Very interested to see Vardy, because he seems to have progressed a lot since I saw him last. This Riyad Mahez lad comes with glowing reports recently, and then there's high profile signing Inler to come in.

For our part, we've been pretty pleased with the start we've made, and feel a bit unlucky not to have gained a point or two more. Getting off the mark at West Ham on Saturday was a big boost to everyone. Getting not just the first top flight goal, but 4 of them, all be it with some pretty poor defending to help. Our own defending / goalkeeping could have been a touch better as well.

We've been really pleased with how ex Leicester product Max Gradel has integrated into the side, coming in after no pre-season work and instantly impressing. He seems just about up to 90 minute speed now, and looks good either out wide or through the middle. He terrorised both Carl Jenkinson and Aaron Cresswell in different periods, forcing the former into a sending off. Between Gradel and Wilson, I'm pretty happy that we can cause anyone problems once they're both on the same wavelength.

Boruc in goal and Cook in defence need to improve on Saturday though, or else we're just going to concede again. Boruc will be fine, we know he just has random off days, but central defence is another matter, Sylvan Distin won't want to sit on the bench all year.

I'm pretty sure you will concede regardless and so will we. I think this game is going to be high tempo, balls out, top advert for the Premier league type jobbo.

0-0.

I'm expecting goals; however if we defend like we did against West Ham I can't see us getting anything from this; they were soft and easily preventable goals we conceded and it often looked like a concentration issue. Keep it tighter at the back and I do feel like we can score; Gradel and Wilson were such handfuls against West Ham I'd really fancy them to test someone like Wes Morgan if they can running at him.

Before the start of the season I had this ear-marked as potentially our first win; the way Leicester have started has made me less confident but their bubble has to burst at some stage.

I think a thrilling 2-2 with some bad defending thrown in for good measure

Vardy on his own up top in a 4-5-1 ? Doesn't really work I don't think.

Not having that, Wilson scores an overhead kick which obviously should be ruled out for high foot and dangerous play.

Silly challenge from Tomlin on Vardy, if he makes contact with his 2 footed jump he's off.

Ranieri looks a reet tit in that cap!

Can't really argue with the scoreline. We've just not set up right. I don't really get what Ranieri is thinking by playing Vardy on his own up front, it's not our system and it won't work for us. We've not really tested Bournemouth at all thanks to the fact that our usual high pressing high tempo play has been completely nullified not by Bournemouth but by ourselves. If it plays on like this then Bournemouth will have a comfortable victory. Not really happy with Ranieri changing the system presumably just because it's an away game.

Game played at an absolutely crazy tempo so far. One bit of magic from Wilson the only difference, teams well marched so far. Referee hasn't got a clue what's going on, miles off the pace, which is admittedly crackers.

Well matched? I think you're playing a lot better than us.

Mings came on at half time and is being stretchered off 6 mins into the second half. Not the best thing for your debut.

The chairman is on the blower though, so maybe he's getting someone bought!

Gradel now down like a sack of shit, looks like he twisted his knee. Not the best of days on the injury front for Bournemouth. All subs used on injuries by the 65th minute.

If Bournemouth don't take all 3 points today it's going to be a real shitter for them. But it looks like they will so far.

1-1 Vardy pen.
We've been so much better in the last 10 minutes or so. Still plenty of time for either side to win it.

Feel very harsh done by there. We had effectively 9 men for half an hour, due to injuries (De Laet you twat) and thus having to make Tomlin and OKane, clearly both fucked after 70 mins, play the full 98 plus.

So its no surprise Leicester forced a goal eventually and it was coming.

We'd never intend OKane and tomlin to play 90 at this stage, and they were identified as weak links immediately as our central midfield became a Swiss cheese of holes.

Leicester can consider themselves lucky to keep 11 on thel pitch and can consider themselves lucky to get away with a decent 98th minute penalty shout that the ref wasn't having any of

Draw maybe fair in a lot of ways, the last half an hour was one way traffic, but fuck me the circumstances around it are frustrating. Even Vardys pen boruc got a good hand on!

That 98th minute pen shout was chancing it. If that's a pen then the one with Vardy tripped on his way out of the box is stonewall.
What did De Laet do? Daniels pulled something off the ball, Mings got what looked like a dead leg when he overplayed the ball and lost a challenge to Drinkwater and Gradel twisted his knee with his foot planted and no challenge. None of the injuries were down to De Laet, who was correctly booked for his foul on Gradel earlier which was just shirt pulling. I don't see where any red cards would come from. If the refs not even going to blow up when Tomlin jumps 2 footed into challenges he's not going to send people off for fair physical challenges.

De Leat was kicking lumps out of anyone he could all game, and managed to stay the right side of the law throughout somehow, but Huth was the lucky one to stay on the pitch. Player sent off at Stoke today for raising hands at an opponents face. Silly boy Huth, but got away with it.

Haven't seen the other Vardy pen shout but I'm told from others at that end of the ground that it would have been a free kick anywhere on ge pitch, to quote. So sounds like that could have gone the other way. On the flip side, the free kick we got first half at that end right on the line, apparently should have been a penalty as well.

Who knows, the ref looked knackered throughout, always chasing the crazy tempo of the game.

Howe says all 3 injuries possibly serious, Mings particularly is clearly serious. FFS, only 5 mins on the pitch as well!

Yeah 2 of your new signings to boot. Every time someone went down the camera panned to your chairman getting on his mobile phone. Maybe it's a good thing long term that it's happened before the window has shut so he can get his wallet out and add to your squad.

I think the ref hasn't given pens in both instances because the players were on their way out of the box rather than into it. Yours was literally on the line and Vardy was about half a yard inside, but both had backs to goal and were chasing the ball out of the box.

Totally agree. I don't think a booking or even a straight red for dangerous play would have been out of place in that situation either. I hope the Premier league are going to take retrospective action against him. Kicking the ball when there are other players around is abhorrent behaviour and has no place on a football pitch.

Just imagine if he had touched the opponent's face! He might have had to go off the pitch for one minute! How disastrous! Should be a permanent ban from all football.

So the draw more than a fair result, thought we were the better team first half but had to absorb a lot of pressure second half and a couple of really smart saves from Boruc kept it at 1-0 for so long. Frustrating pen to give away as Vardy's final touch wasn't brilliant but he knew Cook was sliding in, two unnecessary pens given away in two weeks.

Huth was very lucky to stay on, especially when you look at the red in the Stoke game, raise your hand to someone's face and it's a red, maybe he's lucky Mings didn't go down and roll about like you'd expect most players to do.

But we can be reasonably pleased, we matched one of the form teams in the division, and as disappointing as the pen was, it was an individual mistake yet again rather than us lacking in quality, if we can cut them out of our game then we are starting to to look a decent team at this level.

Nothing yet on the injuries, hopefully not as serious as they first looked otherwise we might be on the hunt for a left back tomorrow!

Are you seriously trying to say that's more dangerous than an overhead kick? :dis:
