Massive game for us, and probably Newcastle as well.

Last time we saw Schteve McClaren down here, it was in an automatic promotion 6 pointer with his Derby side last season, just before he led them to an implosion and results fell off a cliff. For very different reasons this meeting will probably be every bit as pressurised and tense,

Junior Stanislas played a good part in our excellent (although ultimately goalless) second half showing against Southampton at the weekend, so I wonder if we'll see more of him here. Harry Arter will likely play some part which is great. Dan Gosling is midfield is an ex Newcastle player so has a point to prove (and a place to try and keep as Arter progresses back to fitness).

The defence is an experiment at the moment and will surely concede at some stage. Federici has secured the number 1 spot for the time being I think, no more Boruc fuckups for now. But I don't like moving Francis (our best full back) to centre back, just because our fit centre backs are all struggling. But I can understand why. We'll see if Howe continues with that.

Weak wrist Federici. Bournemouth aren't having much luck with goalkeeper form are they? Newcastle have been second best so far.

What fucking ridiculous half of football. How the fuck are we losing?

Well Newcastle defenders hack the ball off the line when called upon, their keeper actually makes saves, and Lee Mason wouldn't give us anything if josh king was decapitated. Only giving a fee kick and even a yellow card on 44 mins when the whole ground finally lost their shit over a fairly regulation nothing foul.

One shot, one goal Newcastle. Weak weak federici. Rob Elliott making good stops at the other end, when he can't there's a defender to help on the line.

Unbelievable half of football to be losing. Newcastle won't be so poor and second best second half, so it's gonna be very hard to get back in this.

Bournemouth really missing Wilson today, or even Murray. Creating loads of chances but they don't have a goalscorer.

What do Newcastle do in training Monday to Friday? It looks as though all they do is throw bodies in front of shots. There's no organisation or cohesion whatsoever.

Newcastle are so bad, would genuinely be surprised if either of these teams are in the Premier League next year. Unfortunately for Bournemouth, it will be through no fault of their own if relegated. Can't remember a team with less luck.

Fuck sake. One shot on target all game Newcastle, fucking dominated by our make shift squad, one shot all game, that's that.

We have two utter clowns for goalkeepers and without Wilson no punch in the opposition box.

Newcastle seriously had less of the game and fewer attacking intend than the dire Sunderland, yet we've managed to lose this.

Unreal season.

Taking emotions out of it a sec, credit to Elliot and Collicini who were superb in keeping Newcastle a clean sheet.

Fuck me what a stupid sport we love.

That's because last season Ritchie and Arter scored about 20 goals of those between them

just sayin', you know, they'd probably be better off trying to create genuine goal scoring chances rather than smashing it high and wide whenever you get in to decent positions. you only had 5 shots on target, mainly because of the wastefull shots from those 2 in the final 3rd. and again with the corners, all you did was swing them in down elliots throat. a bit of calm and patience and you win that game. as it is, aside from a select few proper chances, all you really did was smash hopefull shots at goal and chuck in some looping crosses. doesn't fly at this level.

although i did miss the first 20 mins. maybe you carved us apart before i tuned in. doubt it though.

The first half hour was a very decent spell for us, but not getting the goal we possibly deserved from it puts a right downer on when the Newcastle goal goes in, when confidence isn't high. First goal is important because heads go down, as is the case with frustrated struggling sides.

Colocini is rubbish. Anything good that he does is because his positioning is too poor and he is too slow to prevent things before they become a major problem.

tbf your lot stayed positive and kept trying to play, just think you're missing that player who can split the defence (gradel? idk enough about him) and someone to finish off chances (wilson). hoping you stay up 'cause i enjoyed watching you last season and i'd take your positive football over teams like the mackems and villa anyday

What a frustrating afternoon. Can't fault the players effort, or hardly the performance, but sadly a lot of them just aren't good enough... Even for our team the first year in the Championship.

We did well today, should have scored but Rob Elliott as he Sid a few years ago for Charlton produced a remarkable performance. Credit to Newcastle who dug in but in truth they were awful. This will be a championship fixture next year no doubt.

I really don't envy Eddie the situation we're in. I'll be damned if I know the answer and not sure he does either. You can't bring on woeful League 1 players like Rantie and expect anything but it's all we have.
