We're very close now to beating last season's points total, and we're in an excellent position to achieve an improved final position and a continued improvement for something like the 6th season running. With the table being as tight as it is, there's certainly plenty of play for hopefully. The question is how much these factors feature in the players' heads. It might be that it's job done now for the players and this now becomes a nothing beach game. Stoke don't have much to play for, maybe they'll want to get one back on us for beating them at home.
Poor scrappy game. 4 goals two each, all somewhat fortunate crappy goals too.
One moment of quality all game saw us hit the post and miss the tab in rebound. After that Stoke took some measure of control and probably did enough over the 90 to edge it. So we'll take the point.
Both goalkeepers will be disappointed. Boruc should have done better with their second, he has several chances to come and claim that ball. Butland should have done better with both of ours. Maybe he's isn't up to speed yet after injury. Although his second poor concede was especially funny after his 'banter' with the north stand after Stoke's second. He didn't turn around again after that!
Second half our shape was all over the place. I couldnt tell you what the formation was. We had about 6 attacking midfielder types all floating around. We are a bit depleted with injuries to conventional midfielders. Plus our defenders were making basic errors.
Stoke will be a bit disappointed not to have taken the win I think.
