the games are coming thick and fast.

We welcome bottom of the league Colchester - no banana skin here, then.

Somehow, we're a point outside of the play-offs with a game in hand over most. Another win here would be absolutely massive (again, aren't they all), as we head to Bury at the weekend, who also seem to be in dire straits.

There were a couple of injuries against Blackpool, but hopefully Reece Burke is fit to play. This guy is unbelievably good for his age, and will be a first teamer for his parent club (West Ham) sooner rather than later.

In form Davies appears to be the biggest doubt, with Wes Thomas also feeling a tight calf at the weekend.

Same team again, please;

Ben Williams

Stephen Darby
Rory McArdle
Reece Burke
James Meredith

Tony McMahon
Lee Evans
Josh Cullen
Kyel Reid

James Hanson
Wes Thomas

I'll take a 1-0 win. Colchester are bottom of the league for a reason, and we owe them one for playing so poorly in the reverse fixture.

Thomas deserves a goal for his efforts so far.

Do they? They are 10 points clear of the relegation zone and are only 6 away from 50. Wouldn't call that dire straits.

I said that without really looking into it, in all honesty. Given the recent thrashings, 3-0 x2 and 6-0 against Coventry, they look like going South as opposed to mounting a play-off challenge.

They could well find themselves on the edge of the relegation zone come 5pm Saturday, and such is football, the pendulum could swing in completely the opposite direction.

Some things are inevitable, the sun rises, the tides come in, we gift 6 points per season to the absolute no-hopers at the bottom of the league.

Wouldn't mind Colchester winning this a) to help keep our slight play off hopes alive a bit longer and b) so we don't risk being their first win in however many games it is since they beat us at their place in October on Saturday!

I've been out all evening and come in to see that we have won a game of football. Incredible scenes! Take a bow Bradford.

That was probably the most embarrassed I've ever left a City game

First 20 minutes we could, should have been at least 3-0 up, we fluffed chance after chance after chance, eventually Thomas finishes one and I think 'just maybe we won't royally f*** this up as we normally do', a few more fluffed chances and we let in an absolute gift at the other end - from then on it was a total heads gone.
Thomas had to go off injured, our main threat, the hoof became more and more and despite winning almost everything, Hanson found a City player about three times all night. Likewise the midfield couldn't make a pass had their life depended on it, Evans, McMahon, Reid, just let them have it, they'll just give it you straight back. Defence, another shambles, backed off all night, looked as if they'd just met. Overall a truely disgraceful effort, lacking skill, urgency and worthy of defeat, well played to Colchester who fully deserved their win.

Fair play.

We gave Yeovil 6 points last year and as seen by their campaign this season they are/were basically a Conf side. I'd say in last 10 years we've lost twice in a season to the bottom side about 3 or 4 times? Even when doing not terribly in the league ourselves. It's fucking weird.

Ah well, we were never going to get promoted even if we snuck into the play-offs so at least we can put that to bed.
