A key game amongst the promotion hopefuls takes place at Valley Parade.

Bradford are at home to Southend, hoping to build on their morale boosting thrashing of Peterborough at the weekend. Maybe they caught Posh at a good time, after their midweek exertions in the FA Cup. Was that a false dawn, or will that spur them on and give them the kick up the arse needed to really make a charge for the play offs?

As for Southend, they lost to Scunthorpe on Saturday, but are still a tough to beat team and are sat just behind Millwall in the play off hunt. With Millwall in action as well, both of these teams will need to hunting for a win, because dropped points coupled with a Lions win would give the latter a nice cushion.

Don't see many goals in this one, can't see Bradford repeating Saturdays efforts and Southend are a stingy team most of the time. No more than 2 goals in this one I think.

Form:
Bradford: W3, D1, L2, F9, A6, Pts 10
Southend: W3, D1, L2, F10, A6, Pts 10

Recent meetings:
27 Aug 2010 Bradford City 0-2 Southend United League Two
15 Apr 2011 Southend United 4-0 Bradford City League Two
16 Dec 2011 Southend United 0-1 Bradford City League Two
06 Apr 2012 Bradford City 2-0 Southend United W 2-0 League Two
15 Dec 2012 Southend United 2-2 Bradford City D 2-2 League Two
29 Mar 2013 Bradford City 2-2 Southend United D 2-2 League Two

Saturday's shock win has added a bit more confidence to this game and fingers crossed, it wasn't just a one off after weeks of hard to watch football, 1-1 tonight.

Big game for us tonight. A defeat will all but end play-off hopes especially with the next game against high flying Burton :\ 3 points is a must - don't think we will come close though, 2-0 Bradford.

Only 3 points off still with Millwall slipping up, believe!

Relatively comfortable win in which Southend never threatened.

Southend seemed to be another one of those teams more interested in playing the ball around rather than actually using it to good effect. Ineffective football from them.

Not many teams are 'good enough', whoever goes up in the playoffs this year is going to get crucified in the Champ unless they recruit big.
