Martin always scores aginst these lot, but he's injured.

Bent has scored a lot of goals lately, but he's injured.

Thorne is a match winner, but he's injured.

We have no strikers, and we don't stand a chance here. Farewell top of the league.

I bet you wish you had your Leon now . Wonder what the odds are on Leon Best 1st goal and 1-0.

We have only lost 2 in a row once all season, I think it won't happen again either. A change to defence and maybe Russell up the mid and I think we'll just survive.

Hmm, we've been really good in 3 of our last 4 home games, so Hughton's slowly starting to turn the tide on that front. Surely we've got to end our dismal run of recent defeats to Derby eventually, this would seem a prime time to play them given the striker issue.

But I'll go for an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Read somewhere that McClaren may consider putting Buxton up front? Could be interesting. Greer won't enjoy that one bit.

My Brighton mate reckons they're suddenly looking a really good side, and seem confident of giving anyone a game (including us in a few weeks!).

Possibly.

Either him or we'll be sticking a Russell or an Ince up front. Either way we're not winning either of our next two games.

As I have mentioned in another thread, I would go 442 now that we struggling for strikers.
I'd go with Russell and Ward up top, both have played as a striker in a two, so would be confident with those pair.

Arranged a meeting in London for tomorrow, so will be going to the game, hopefully be a performance like the 2 at the Amex last season!

Whilst we'll be going all guns blazing to get the win I wouldn't mind a point at all.

We've sounded better than at Fulham, but not sure where the goals are going to come from. Brighton will nick this.

I seriously wouldn't mind a draw like so far, would keep us top of the league and provided we beat Brum I think we'll be fine. Norwich we may lose against, but players will be coming back and with a full strength side I can only see us lose to Norwich, Wolves potentially and Boro potentially, although no easy games in this league.

I went to watch us play twice away to Brighton in the Championship. We lost 2-0 both times and it was horrific.

I imagine this is the same. Except I had no expectations from league placing or form. So hahahaha for you.

Our good players are needed. Quick. Otherwise that's our season over. I will keep the faith and if we beat Brum it won't be so bad, but Norwich onwards is daunting and we need our best players for them, otherwise we miss out again.

If we don't go up though, is it anything to do with McClaren? I know he has done amazing for the most part but it seems we can't adapt in difficult situations at all, which as the coach he is he should be able to do. I don't want him out at all, but he has to change what is going on.

Absolutely dominated that game, but never sounded like we'd ever score. Pretty much what I expected.

We'll be third this time tomorrow. If it's playoffs again, I don't think we stand a chance.

Shite result, injuries aren't an excuse.

Caught Stockdale on a decent night but my god we should have scored tonight. Only ourselves to blame, no point dwelling or writing anything off. We've got to play Boro, Norwich etc so we've still got plenty to play for.

Onto Saturday, reaction needed.

We'll lose at Norwich, but Boro and Watford at home are even bigger now we're behind.

Brum on Saturday also a must win.

You're welcome Boro, Norwich, Bournemouth etc..

Beautifully satisfying to be the ones doing the sucker-punching at the Amex for once. Seriously though, I can't recall ever having so little of the play - for the first hour or so, and especially the first 15 of the second half it was largely one way traffic and only some great last ditch defending/appalling finishing/Stockdale saving keeping us level. But the longer it went on, the more I think everyone sensed what was likely to happen. And how sweet it was to see Kazenga actually keeping his head in front of goal to effectively kill the game off with a belting finish for the second.

Derby had silly amounts of pace on the break, as expected with that front 3, and could/should've punished us when we kept giving the ball away in dangerous areas, but they were noticeably lacking a poaching presence in the box, which ultimately seemed to be their undoing in the end.

Still gobsmacked from Tuesday night's match.
Should have been out of sight after 10-15 minutes, but that's football - if you don't take your chances and have an error prone defence, you're always likely to concede.

Must say, I've been to the Amex every season since we've played there and l can't believe how friendly your fans are. Every year, I end up having a proper good chinwag on the park and ride bus, to and from the stadium.

Makes me ask the question - Are Brighton the friendliest fans in the league? In my experience, I'd say they were.
