Good win for Brighton if they hold on.

Defended well since taking the lead which they probably deserved.

Felt like another huge win that, defended heroically at times. Home form's gonna be absolutely crucial to our chances of staying up so vital we keep picking up points in these types of games.

Hemed's stepped up admirably these past few games which is just as well as we didn't even have a striker on the bench today. Solly March possibly the best player on the pitch again, the lad has taken to Prem football like I couldn't have even imagind, big, big future ahead of him. Dunk and Duffy collussus at the back. Bruno just.. superb - for an almost 37 year old, at that.

Atmosphere was pretty decent, too. Wasn't entirely sure how it'd be for a Sunday afternoon kick off, felt very strange being the last game of the weekend..

Newcastle deserved a point there. Interesting how they remained patient as the game went on and didn't just launch long ball after long ball into the box.

tut tut, that's a definite 3 match ban if his surname is mitrovic. will be interested to see if he does get a ban given it wasn't committed on an england international. same thing shelvey was sent off and banned for.

bruno's clumsy forearm smash to shelvey's face in the box during the final minutes wasn't much better either. clear penalty. think we were good for a draw here with the chances we created and the couple of incidents they got away with, but brighton played well to be fair to them. first half in particular they were great at exploiting the flanks. still think they'll be alright this season, along with huddersfield.

Maybe if the ref didn't see it..

the rules were changed when callum mcmanaman was retrospectively banned after he tried (and somewhat successfully succeeded) to end haidara's career in 2013, even though a match official saw the incident. going further back, ben thatcher was banned for 8 games in 2006 for elbowing mendes despite receiving a booking at the time. a match official may see an incident occur and include it in their match report, that doesn't mean the f.a can't hand out a punishment retrospectively. although, granted, they generally don't. basically the f.a do what they want depending on media reaction.

i picked burnely, swansea and palace to go down before the season kicked off. swansea and palace i'm sticking too, burnley i'm not as confident on. i think all 3 promoted clubs will survive though.

Banned for 3 matches. Do Brighton have a fit replacement?

Nope. Murray could be back some point soon, but the club are being typically vague/unspecific about return dates.

Izzy Brown may be used up top at the Emirates on Sunday.
