Three defeats on the bounce for Spurs, we need a W. This game is an opportunity to do that but Brighton wont be easy. Work commitments meant I missed the CL defeat on Tuesday night, but I caught Poch saying he was pleased with the performance. We need a good performance today, I've perhaps foolishly gambled my triple captain on Kane (what was I thinking??), so a brace from the man would be nice!
A scrappy win if ever I saw one, disregard the possession stats and the "shots on goal", Spurs fiddled this. Our stranglehold on midfield, for most of the game, prevented Brighton from breaking out into more attacking moves but they had a great spell in the second half when they could easily have levelled the score.
Lamela was a much needed sub in a game where yet again the "usual suspects" Kane, Eriksen and (it hurts me to say it) Moura didn't deliver. Lamela is full of beans and clearly "up for it", even if his confidence sometimes exceeds his talent I say play the man this season. Great three points on the road but I suspect Poch will still have to field some questions about performance/selection again. Just glad to have got through this...
