Brighton look decent, but I wouldn't bet on them maintaining it for the whole season, but they'll carry on their form for this week at least.

The Amex hasn't been a happy hunting ground for us since it opened either - I've been there twice, first time we didn't even have a fucking shot on target.

Tidy ground and all that, not sure I'd ever want to go back there again though, and don't really have fond memories of the place.

Won't bother trying to predict this one. On the face of it, we have two very winnable home fixtures this week to potentially build an even bigger lead at the top, but I only have to look at Boro 0-1 City to remember what happens in this division the moment you start to think along those lines.

In fairness, you do look to be steadily improving and the likes of Cox and Bennett look useful loan additions, so expecting a close one. As they all have been anyway for us this season.

On the topic of Baldock, he hasn't been in the goals so far this season but his lively movement and energy on the break has been crucial in creating space and chances for others, and he has for the most part been playing very well. Certainly wouldn't say no to a goal tomorrow night, mind..

Seriously though, expecting City to pose far more of a threat this time round with Kodja up front, who looks decent, along with the aerial threat of Wilbraham, who'll inevitably score seconds after the first chorus of "Palace reject" is aimed in his direction.

Be interesting to see how we fare against the 3-5-2 formation - presume Benno will be filling that right wing-back slot? Wary of Freeman and his set-pieces.

League positions/logic say a home win...and although I feel we are going to improve as the season progresses I think we're not quite settled yet and would be over the moon with a draw to be honest!

En route to Brighton, feeling pretty confident. Nothing much expected, going against a team on a long unbeaten run: just feels like the type of game we tend to nick a win in. Reminds me of Southampton, or Orient away a couple of years ago.

While Brighton have made a fine start a lot of their games appear to have been tight affairs, won by the odd goal. Everyone seems to be assuming they'll fall away at some point but who knows in the Championship. Having seen Reading, Boro and Burnley this season, be interesting to see how they compare.

And we're not as poor a side as the league table might suggest, got plenty of goals in us and seem to be finding that balance defensively in the last few games.

Saw talk on your forum with a couple of injuries you might switch to a 433 with Baldock out wide? Hope you don't tbh, that's how Reading set up against us with great effect and could see Baldock causing all sorts of problems playing down the channel with his movement.

It's possible, we've only ever started in a 4-4-2 set up so far this season but have tended to switch to 4-3-3 on about 60 minutes in order to help see games out/gain more control in midfield.

Kayal and Stephens have been crucial in providing the energy in the middle that allows us to play 2 up top, but I do think the 4-3-3 might better counteract your less conventional formation as you suggest. We're also slightly depleted in the wide areas atm with March our only fit "true" winger. Either way, we're likely to have to adapt to a slight change in personnel/system tonight.

What do you reckon's been the main reason for the recent improvement and resulted optimism among City fans of late? Seem to recall a lot of discontent over the lack of transfer movement during the summer, Cotterill looked like a beaten man after the first couple of games. Just taken a while to find your feet again at this level?

There has been a lot of anxiety over an exceptionally small squad for this level..not helped by the slow return to fitness of Mark Little at RWB. I reckon WB's have to be 100% fit (no matter what level) in this system and a little renewed optimism is probably engendered by increased cover with the addition of the recent loan signings tbh!

Only Reading aside who completely outplayed us, we haven't played like a team who is 21st in the league. A few games ago we were looking good, but not taking our chances.

Teams would then catch us on the break
and punish us. People are forgetting we have a young squad which most of them have never played at this level.

Think we're just settling in. We should, hopefully be fine!
