Genuine question, where do the goals come from in that team?
McGoldrick is the main threat I suppose, and as JJH says Ward is our top scorer this season. You're right though, goalscoring is by far the biggest weakness of our team.

Ward, Mcgoldrick & Lawrence the 3 main threats from the starting 11. But don't expect a high scoring thriller, we've scored 17 and conceded 17 this season, 3rd best defence in the league and I believe third worst in terms of goals scored!

Cheeky 1-0 away win for me. Clean sheet pretty much nailed on. :box:

Well a few have been asking for 2 up top. Not there today, be interested to hear how it looks. Might save Abraham from being too isolated up against their big defenders. Interesting to see Smith in for O'Neil.

It's got a lot of last season's look about it that team (post Cotterill)

Gotta change the midfield, we've not been able to play through them at all yet. Far too narrow if we're gonna play 4 in midfield.

Goal in the first half? Get in there!

Soft sounding pen going by Radio Bristol (so basically I have no idea). Would be hilarious given how this thread started

Didn't look a pen from the South Stand.

That wasn't a classic that's for certain.

First half both teams created very little, other than the penalty which shouldn't have been, and a half chance for Wilbraham in the first 10 minutes.

Second half we started very slowly as Ipswich started to get themselves on the ball, and they hit the post with their only chance of the game. Once we whethered that, we started to find space on the break, and Freemans goal was some strike. One of those that goes over the stand or in the top corner.

Brownhill should have made it 3, but tried to play in an offside Tammy, at the end.

Didn't think there was much in it to be honest. Ipswich were very well organised but didn't offer much in the final third. City were the brighter of the two teams but not by much.

As for the ref, thought he was good, penalty decision aside.

Routine win against a team who offered nothing going forward despite appearing to control a fair portion of the game. One good save from Fielding but otherwise it was the expected clean sheet.

It was absolutely a penalty, goalie swiped Abraham out and didnt complain at all.

Great goal from Freeman which more than makes up for the fact he was rubbish for the first 70 mins.

Man of the match was Matthews imo.

Was it not a penalty mate? I was in the south stand, thought he clipped him but I stand corrected.

Ipswich were alright at the back but offered nowt going forward, Tomlin was running rings around their right back.

Important win, back on track!

I was in the corner next to the screen in the SS and none of us thought it was, but we were some distance away.

Clear pen from right behind it in the Atyeo.

Abraham got to the ball first and goalie smashed into his legs.

Two pretty poor teams imo. we we're just a little better. Ive always thought Mick wasnt doing the worse job jn the world but if that's how they are every week then I don't blame some Ipswich fans turning. Before Freeman's ridiculous goal I was annoyed at myself for not staying in the pub watching the Rugby. We aret ever going to cause teams too many problems with two players sitting infront of the back four. Freeman rubbish? Him and Tomlin were the only players offering anything at all. Didn't help that Matthew's offered nothing on the overlap.

Ahwell an important three points.

Played well within ourselves, but the win was deserved overall.

Having Wilbs on from the start was a good move, as those lumps would have battered Abraham if he was on his own (and still tried to)

Yeah, we were nowt special but still caused the "third best defence in the league" several problems and maintained our shape and limited them to one clear cut chance in 90 minutes.

It was another professional home performance, no complaints from me.

I was in B block in the Dolman or E33 as it is now. It was a penalty but what on earth was their keeper doing? Tammy was going away from goal but did get to the ball first.

Best keeper in the league apparently!

Oh and 'the better team on paper' didnt even win a corner. Dull.

Thought mcgoldrick for them had a decent game, but how Varney is still playing in unbelievable. Spent the game either offside, or handballing. Berra spent most of the game fouling too, how he didn't get a yellow for the fould the ref did actually give I'll never know. Thought Webster was decent though.

As for us, tomlin, Abraham, magners and Matthews the standouts. Thought we played quite poorly but the 3 points is definetly welcome.
