I'd say spending over 1 million on a right back is completely unnecessary it's fucking league one ;)

It does seem a bit much but If it carries on raining in Bristol they could drown so they might have the right idea. I'm just off to get my armbands as we speak!

He did say that they were staying away until after the Doncaster game, didn't see the point in travelling any more than needs be I guess.

He also said it ain't the first time we've done it this season.

We knew this on Thursday but thanks for the update.

After yesterday I imagine they are sick of the sight of each other. Maybe would have been wiser to sleep in their own beds for two nights?

For some time now I've been disillusioned with the state of British football but this is above and beyond that. This is about more than football, this is about humanity and I weep for it...I weep for humanity. I'm disgusted, I'm appalled and I feel a sense of uncontrollable rage towards that 'football club' (if we can even call those scumbags that now) Bristol City.

How did it come to this? At what point did they sink low enough to pull this shit? Do you NEED those 3 nights in a hotel? Whilst children of Sheffield pick their way through rubbish every day just to keep their orphan siblings alive. You come up here, with your Southern wealth and you flaunt it in their faces. The North shall rise and they will not forgive and they will not forget this episode. I myself can't even bring myself to express hatred towards your vile club, only pity.

3 nights at a hotel is like pocket change to a football club though, if he wants to get angry at "the vulgarity of conspicuous wealth" this would not be the thing to choose...

Maybe it's because his own club pitch up at the local YMCA.

They have got £1.5m full backs to pay for!

Its not the money theres just no need for it these things are the reason why 90% of footballers are wankers and dont live in the real world its the 3rd division whats up with just going on the coach the day of the game. Do any of you have 3 nights in a hotel before you go to work for the day its absolutely pathetic. And its not just bristol city i know that i just find it a joke

But when it's that or travelling all the way back to Bristol only to have another 4-5 hour coach trip the next day, surely it's just common sense?

It's not the footballers decision, its the management that decided... im sure given the choice, the players would of rather gone back to their families for a few nights.

Im of the opinion that the less travelling the better though tbh

And I doubt they just have 3 days to lounge round the hotel.

Never realised so many on here have had a sense of humour bypass.

Everyone of your comments has come across as tongue in cheek. They seemed to have missed that for some reason.

It actually makes less sense for the players to go home and then have to get back together for a long trip north again. They can have a normal routine on Tuesday before the game and so be more prepared. Makes sense.

to be fair there's lots for them to do, like, erm...go to corp for quadvods and erm...see where the Full Monty Was filmed and erm...meadowhall. I think Cotterill probably forgot Valentines day so is just finding excuses to keep out of the way.
