As I said in the Championship forum. It's a good time to be a City fan.

The much bigger new West stand will be partially built by then Walkley. Obviously it depends when in the season we play you at our place but it's a big structure which will dominate the skyline, a little like the main stand at Leeds dominates. It's going to be twice the height of the stand currently being built so should look good.

Isn't it going to be a bit of a white elephant? Being that big I mean.

I know what you mean as we probably won't fill it for a while.
It's a 2 tiered job with a load of corporate boxes in the middle FYI.
My understanding is that the top tier will only be opened as and when needed but it seems pointless to rebuild the stadium and not expand the capacity. You never know, we might need it at some point!
Without the top tier, I would guess we would be at around 22 /23000 which will be plenty.
Here it is with the new South stand on the left hand side.

Ah so that's the old stand that used to be to the left of the away end when we had the east end? Nice one.

Leeds I believe keep the upper tier shut at present as it's just not worth opening.

Yeah the Williams on the left of where you were. The Dolman on the right is getting a refurbishing

I'm not surprised with the prices they are charging on a match day. £35? That's taking the piss!

Decent cladding too, so happy you haven't gone for that awful random cladding that so many new stands/stadiums have thesedays. The large screen on the outside is a nice touch too, its just those seemingly small details that really makes it different and more unique to your club rather than the lego stadiums that have popped up over the last 2 decades.

As for having the larger stand only being partially opened, makes perfect sense, theres something unique about british football fans that they never want a stadium to be built that will have empty seats, it is completely different in other countries, unless you get a stadium like Darlington did with 3 thousand in a 20.000+ stadium there is nothing wrong with having a larger stadium in the hope that progress on the field will lead to those extra seats eventually being filled.

Season tickets are absolutely flying out at the moment. I reckon we'll be pretty much sold out for every game next season with a 16,500 capacity.

S24 didn't have two together when I went down there just. Ended up in Dolman A block. Teach me for leaving it so late. I assume the whole of the dolman is getting a refurb? Not just the bottom and the Roof!

South stand and Atyeo have ALL gone now and only the old Dolman A block (E34) has seats together anywhere.
It's gonna be a sell out by the looks of it but I cannot see where the 2000 POTD home fans are going to go?

That South Stand looks like a lot of structure for not a lot of seats. The roof is the same height as the Dolman but with the top row finishing a lot lower in comparison. Just an observation.

The facilities within the South Stand were always a major part of the rebuild. We've known how many seats we're getting all along. I can't wait to see how impressive the new Williams Stand is going to be.

Inclined to agree but I will see it for myself next season as I plumped for the new South stand where it meets the Dolman (E27?) right at the back! Hopefully I will get a decent view.
