does there? I didn't notice any
It looks like the entrances will block the view of those in the lower Dolman back rows. No doubt the club will sort it if there's any issue.

Sorry to hijack the thread a little, but I know it's mainly City fans that come in here.

I reckon this is good value for money if you enjoy a bet -

I'm all over that at 25's. £20 already staked. Easy money.

Flintys odds have shortened to 10/1 now! Can get 5/1 on Kodjia to score 15

Can I join in? We recently made an upgrade to our dugouts, now you get class seating!

It's something I suppose.

Having comfy seats in the dugout always looks wrong to me. Also a sign of the pampered footballers at Real Madrid etc.

Just watched the updated video. I've been a bit of a miserable bastard with regards to the on field situation but after watching that it does make me look forward to Brentford. Seing the place packed out and a good atmosphere no doubt. I'm sure all that may disappear after Saturday.

As I left it so late I Ended up in Dolman block a. Going to be slightly weird not being able to the away support this year. I got the impression the Atyeo side of the stand was going to be see through. Seems not

I don't mind the comfy seats so long as our dug out is a dug out. In other words, dug into the ground. Means more fans can see and players are better protected. Furthermore I think it looks better.

After all the worry of being late, we're pretty much there. Just a lick of paint here and there and a tiny bit of remedial work but the Gate (well, 3/4 of it) is ready for Saturday.
Pics from OTIB as I have been on my holidays and hadn't seen them myself until earlier.

Looks pretty smart inside, but, I think they should have given it a bit more character on the outside (Somehow)

I look at the external view and I can't help but think "Bloomfield Rd"......And I fucking hate Bloomfield Rd.

Bear I mind there are houses right behind the new 'end' so we were tightly restricted on height and what we could do. It's a quality build rather than the cheapie in Blackpool and it will be dwarfed by the signature 'main stand' which s starting now and will be finished next summer. It has the look of a smaller Elland Rd IMHO with one stand twice the height of the others. We've also got an outward facing HD Jumbotron going on the corner which is a nice addition.
All down to taste I guess and I'm biased so I like it.

As we've just had the balloon fiesta down here, a few excellent images have been doing the rounds, this seems the most recent and gives some idea of the footprint of the (to be built this season) West stand plus that we are (just about) ready.

Yeah, I see what you mean about the houses. We were under similar restrictions when building our newest Invincibles stand.

Like the look of your new Main stand, should look good when it's starting to take shape. I actually prefer the stadiums that have one massive fuck off mismatched main stand. The older version of Old Trafford, for example.

I don't think any City fan would ever make a comparison between the Gate and OT but I do agree with you. It's something different and unique which I like.
If we ever get to develop the Atyeo end, it will be something very nice and the Dolman has supposedly got a shelf life of 20 years max so will have to be replaced at some point. There are rumours that the houses behind the Atyeo are gradually being purchased but that's all rumour.

A few more so my fellow reds know what to expect. Walking from stand to stand ain't half weird!

Seriously, it's bigger than the pictures show, it really is a big stand and loads of room. Can't wait until Saturday to see it full!
Finally,, someone was kind enough to picture my daughter and myself trying our seats out!

It's clearly not finished but it is more than useable.

Even our kids battered your kids....pfft

Seriously, what was the game like, we have a certain Mr Hirst playing for us, his dad weren't a bad player, he scored the equaliser i believe.

I only stayed until half time Walkley and we were 1 up. Both sides played technically good football and all the players have excellent technique. Your lads actually looked bigger TBH.
I take it that was David Hirst's lad? Good player was DH.

I think it'll dress up a nice little ground. Always a good away day, normally resulting in 3 points for the Royals :p

A 'nice little ground' which will be BIGGER than your bowl.
Are your supporters actually gonna make any noise when we visit this season or sit in open mouthed awe of the 'bounce' again?
Bloody WUM!

True, shame there is never anybody in it.

As for our supporters singing, I don't really know mate, I suspect not.

FYI, we were sold out in the home stands for most games last season and are already sold out for the 2 available home games this season, admittedly at a lower capacity (16500 I think). Season tickets are sold out as well for this season. We can't do a lot more than that to be fair.
I'm old enough to remember Elm park by the way so I wouldn't be taking the piss out of the Gate TBH. Now that was a dump!

Welcome to the forums regardless, nice to see new people on here.

I don't think I did take the piss out of the Gate, did I?

Have nothing but respect for the club and the ground, standard small club really, good on you for getting this far.

Thanks for the welcomes all

Patronising ponce. You're a Reading fan FFS, the epitome of a nothing club turned plastic!!
I would take that from a fan of a bigger club but Reading? :fish:

Sounds like i've touched a nerve.
Is it standard form to have a pop at people around here for actually complimenting another club? Particularly one that doesn't have many fans.

I'm just pointing out that relative to the size of the city it is a small club.

Then again if I remember correctly there is a bigger club in the North of the city anyway?
