Bloody hell Tommy, how spot on were you? I've heard that is exactly what SL is doing. Fair play to you!

Finger on the pulse innit!

(Or just common sense here!)

Ooooooo some metal

OUR metal, saucy git!
We have some City posters on here that live, currently, in foreign countries. They might appreciate the updates.
I thought you'd be nice to us as we are playing your favourite neighbours on Friday.

The usually optimistic JJH assures me you're going to get thrashed, so no.

Bristol City fans - How long a walk is Temple Meads Station from Ashton Gate. Maps say its about 2 miles. Do you reckon I'll be ok to get back to the station for 10.30 after the match? I would get a taxi but after a match its probably going to be quite hard. I might set off a few minutes earlier to beat the rush anyway.

You should be fine mate. Done it before on a couple of evening games and made it pretty comfortably. It's a fair old trek but just a straight line, shouldn't take any more than 45 mins, usually takes me closer to half an hour but then I'm a long-legged bastard!

Nice one, I can always jog the last bit if it's close. Should be fine as the game will finish around 9.45 and I can miss injury time. We should be 4 up and out of sight by then anyway ;)

And so another brick is laid at Ashton Gate. This one was lovingly laid by Bob "Bob" McDowell in memory of his father Robert "Robert" McDowell who was a season-ticket holder for a year, although he supported Rovers most of his life because the tea was better.
Brick by brick, the new Gate rises.

Why do people click on this thread if they're not interested.

Not like the Championship forum is very active anyway.

They do buses directly to Temple Meads after the game behind the Atyeo (stand you'll be sat in), if you get on the first one it should get you to Temple Meads in plenty of time.

I thought they were on the main road by KFC now? At least there were some there after the MK Dons game.

They are indeed by the KFC. They do get pretty rammed though!
45 minutes to walk to TM is plenty of time anyway. M Dogg will be fine.

For those that have been to the Gate before, this gives an idea of the size. Bear in mind, it now dwarfs the Dolman stand opposite and that was the largest stand previously.
With the roof and roof truss still to go on, it's gonna be a biggie! (38 meters at full height I believe).

38 meters at full height, which is put into context with the new South Stand only being 18 meters.

That's a point, what is going to happen to the old dressing rooms under the Atyeo Stand once the new main stand is built? Are they going to be ripped out or refurbished?

I believe the new stand will hold the tunnel, changing rooms etc, and they'll use the extra space in the Atyeo for club offices.

That's how I understand it as well. Club offices in the Atyeo, tunnel covered and seated and all the team stuff moves to the West stand. The changing rooms are going in the building between the 2 stands, I think, even though the tunnel will be on the half way line? I think that bit is right.
