Awaiting the inevitable Windass jibes is this thread.

Anyway, as for the game - Hull haven't conceded in something like 600 minutes of football, and are looking very strong in all departments. I'm not expecting anything from this in terms of points, if I'm honest I think the score line difference could end up being 4 or 5. That's not me being a pessimist, that's just being realistic and acknowledging the gulf in class between the two sides. The majority of their squad have made their living in the Premier League, and I have absolutely no idea how they've managed to keep hold of the some of the players they still have.

Anyway - I'd love for nothing more than us to wipe that smug smile off that fat face of Bruce's, but I can't see it happening.

0-5. Sorry, but I can see a tonking here.

The glimmer of hope left in me for this fixture is that we haven't lost in front of the Sky cameras in something like 16 games, but I think this run will be put to an abrupt end here.

Think Hull will have enough, 2-1 at a guess, Kodjia to do something special to score and Hull to have plenty of chances where we defend fairly well but can't cope with constant attacks.

Sky seem to love this fixture for some reason. Third time in a row this has been on.

Who's up for a game of play off final bingo? Every time they mention 'Gary Johnson', '£100m game' or 'chased the Premier League dream'...take a shot. And how long into the programme before they show that goal, I give it 20 seconds.

As said, we've got an incredible record on Sky recently, though thinking about it the last time we lost might well have been Hull at home.

I don't think we'll get battered but it is hard to see us getting anything from this one. Aside from them being top of the league and everything, it's just a really bad matchup for us. Tight at the back with plenty of pace going forward: the perfect combination to exploit our weaknesses. Vital we don't concede early or it will be a long afternoon.

This being the Championship, we play well we've got every chance, but anything would be a bonus really.

0-2

Ciderhead, add for us 'this team is very different to the one that lost the play off final' 'contrasting fortunes for the two teams after that game' etc

That's our little scoreboard fooked then! :ffs:
It doesn't take much to fuck up our scoreboard, Kodija scored before the scoreboard starting working on the first home game vs Brentford

The gulf in class is such that we'll have to play out of our skins to even have a chance of a point here. I think we'll run them close but ultimately lose 2-1.

Was planning on watching this at the expat bar with a few beers (I very rarely get the chance to see us play live)...now yesterday, my other half has "surprised" me with tickets to an event at the same time. If we lose I'll be grumpy. If we win I'll be grumpy for having missed it. Grrr.

2-0 to the future champions.

Is there any Hull fans on here? What happened to Dodger? And Bentos? And Kaa?

Nicely taken by Maloney, that Hull bench is mental.

Happy with that. Draw a fair result, although if they would have nicked it at the end I wouldn't have had any complaints. Thought we shaded the first half, but in the second half they kept the ball superbly and we were chasing shadows at times.

They've got some quality individuals who should be playing in the league above, Huddlestone, Dawson etc, so to see us go toe to toe with a side like that is pleasing.

Onto Rotherham next week then; play like that up there and we'll win.

I think SC and co read this thread before because we showed them way to much respect. If I was a floating fan watching that on sky thinking maybe I should get down the gate, after watching that I wouldn't bother. We were so negative it was boring. Let's not make Hull to be world beaters. When we actually ventured over the half way line they constantly fouled us in dangerous positions.

A decent point but won't be rushing to watch the highlights.

I too was amazed to see how Hull's first 11 is pretty much a carbon copy of last season's. No wonder they're league leaders with a side capable of surviving in the Prem.

Good result.

First half I thought we edged and went in deservedly ahead.

Second half we were dominated in midfield but that's hardly surprising given the gulf in quality in there.

Freeman though was very disappointing again. Slowed down all of our counter attacks, lack of awareness of teammates runs around him and miscontrolled the ball far too much. Bobby has done more this season in his brief game time than Freeman has all season. Start him next time please Cotterill.

Yeah, we should have went into the game with a gung ho mentality and just forget about our defensive duties, they'll sort itself out, like it did against Fulham, Reading, and pretty much every game in the first half a dozen of the season.

Didn't say that did I? Just thought we were over defensive. We invited pressure and as you said if they had won you wouldn't of had any complaints.

Poor finishing and some last ditch defending meant we came away with a positive result. The performance was anything but. Can't fault the effort and desire but it wasn't enjoyable to watch.

Just heard Bruce blame a 'bobbly' pitch. Clown.
