To give them both their Sunday names.

Bit of a turnaround from us, we'd have been no hopers against Northampton with Ronnie in charge but we seem better organised and a lot more resolute.

That said, Rovers have been going well so I'm going for a 1-1 draw.

Nice use of the ' s' there Gas .... you cannot underestimate the improvement in defence under Fleming.... I can't see us conceding more than one .... can we score ? We are due a bit of luck up front

Luck up front? You have Rakish Bingham there. Players like him make their own luck. What more do you want? Messi? Neymar?

We've been useless as of late, so we need an improved result or performance. can see a Hartlepool win. Won't be there as off to New York tomorrow.

Only team I have enjoyed watching so far this season Bristol Rovers. I suspect we will put up a much better showing that we did at our place. Still don't expect to score here, mind.

Another 0-0 is very possible

We were great going forward, could have had eight. Fell asleep a couple of times at the back and brought some undue pressure which better teams would have punished

Just had a look at Hartlepool's fixture list - they've got to pick up some points, sharpish. 8 of their last 11 games against genuine promotion/playoff-chasing sides.

Somehow , once again we've found a couple worse than us ... I think we could stay up with the lowest ever points total

If you could actually get eight on Saturday then that'd be fucking great.

Our defence were an embarrassment last night. Scott Harrison has gone downhill so much this season.

Completely unrecognisable from how solid we were against Northampton. Didn't expect anything but a heavy defeat tonight but after Saturday I had a fragment of hope. It's the hope that kills me. Any slight feeling of positivity just gets snuffed out by these useless halfwits.

After our recent run of form and Hartlepools impressive draw with Northampton, I wasn't expecting such a one sided match.

The result wasn't really in doubt from the minute Taylor put is in front. He walked away with a hatrick but should have had at least 4 because the disallowed goal was never offside in my opinion.

I thought Hartlepool might be tough to break down but poor going forward and the opposite was actually true. Rovers could have had 7 or 8 on the night but the monkey hangers could have had 3 themselves; twice hitting the woodwork.

An important confidence boosting win which will hopefully lead to some improved performances and results away from home, starting at Notts County on Saturday.

Hartlepool sounded absolutely dreadful on radio. Could/should have been more, I feel for the Pool's fans, especially those who went all that distance. Hartlepool must think we're Real Madrid after our 2 games this season

That's a big win for us, especially how nearly every game went our way last night. Good stuff.

I am actually missing Gaffers now, or more specifically, his luck! IIRC, he also got another goal for The Gas kinda similiar to this one.

As for Pools, football's a funny game. Everyone is saying Pools are terribly poor, yet we failed to beat them in two attempts (2 draws), and they actually looked half decent tbh:dk: In fact, I remember saying they were more or less safe as they weren't as poor as Daggers or York.

They probably look half decent against you because you're a bang average side?

Yep, that's the most likely explanation. But then again, around 22 other sides are bang average too so I don't know.

Them highlights are bloody depressing. I genuinely thought we'd put up more of a fight than that. However, it wasn't until 17 minutes in that anyone realised Scott Harrison had been brought into the starting line up due to Bates' injury. I wouldn't have even bothered checking the score had I known.

The sooner Hignett realises Walker is gash, and Harrison is liable for at least a goal a game (3 in this case) the better. If he doesn't, I fear the worst.
