Anybody watch this?

Onto 2nd series now but thought the first series was brilliant and the second one has started and has potential to be even better - loads going on and impossible to call how things will pan out for me.

One of the only things i've watched on TV recently.

I really enjoy Broadchurch. It's not the best crime drama I've ever seen but I like the simplicity of it. It's not too complex and it's easy to watch with recognisable faces. Olivia Coleman is excellent. I've enjoyed the start of season two although I've called every twist so far.

Kind of saw that coming last night but still really enjoying it - can see many twists and turns in the plot coming though, it is very well written imo - definitely enjoying it. Along with the Walking the Nile programme they are the only things I go out my way to watch on tv currently.

I'm enjoying series 2 but have to say it's not as good as the first as it was an outstanding piece of drama. Olivia Coleman is one of the best actresses on tv right now and no doubt she'll win more awards for this show.

Not seen last night's episode yet, but the continuity is all over the place which bugs me. Danny's says that he died in July(?) 2013 yet the first series was broadcast in spring 2013. The court summons papers were dated 2014. Given that a court case takes ages to come to trial, it's all up the creek and Beth's been pregnant for about 18 months.

last night's was a bit better, they've completely ballsed the court case up (witnesses yet to give evidence being sat in the public gallery for instance) but there's still the intrigue of this Ashworth character and his strange girlfriend and of course the possibility of Joe getting away with the murder, even though I doubt he will.

Broadchurch is absolutely brilliant. The acting, the music and especially the camera work and directing is the best you can get!

Watched last night but it seems to be going downhill with each episode, i realy hope there's no third series planned.

I'm still well into it, not sure where it is going to go next as there seems a to be a fair bit going on and a lot to still be revealed.

Last night was good, best episode of the series, but this series is clearly not a patch on the first. The first series was so brilliant because it was very plausible scenario and an excellently laid out who-dunnit. This one is all a little bit silly, almost written with an American audience in mind, and frankly I just do not care for the Sandbrook case, the mysterious-guy-standing-in-the-distance-with-creepy-music and her-off-Torchwood. The trial itself could have carried the series alone but they fooked that up in episode one with the whole throwing the confession out in front of the jury followed by blatant inaccuracies (as mentioned, witnesses in court before giving evidence).

The way the series has gone I'm thinking they're going to go the whole hog in ballsing the series up with an implausible not guilty verdict and/or, god forbid, someone being framed.

Other than that; entertaining stuff.

Too much going on. I don't care about this second case they've brought in, and the two solicitors are just terrible. So much of it is just hard to believe, and even the performances are suffering. Becca and the vicar... Good grief.

Think only Olivia C and Tennant emerge unscathed from this debacle. Both doing well with a pretty poor script.

It seems more and more as it goes on that ITV have rushed out a second series when it wasn't really ready. So much filler last night it was painful.

It's not that bad. Granted it hasn't hit the heights of the first series but it was never going to. There's still enough there to keep me intrigued.

I'm quite enjoying the second series, although as said above, it's not as good as the first. I could be wrong but I get the impression they didn't expect the first series to be the success it was, and a second series was never expected to be made or accounted for at the end of the first. As such it's all a little on the fly and, in terms of the storyline, tenuous in some respects.

I'M OUT.

To be honest, I thought the last episode was one of the better ones. Olivia Coleman was excellent. It's starting to move forward a bit quicker now (as you'd expect with just two episodes left).

There are still bits that annoy me. Nigel Carter's face is one. The twattish reporter is another. The deputy defence barrister is incredibly irritating also. Mark Lannister grates.

Like I said, two episodes left. May as well see it out.

No surprise that they left the verdict cliffhanger at the end, although it was damn annoying.

I'm hearing that a third series has been commissioned or is about to be. I've no idea what they're going to base it on.

I'm saying not guilty based on the evidence given, although I'd be surprised if he is found guilty given it'd make the whole series then feel a bit pointless.

Saw one theory I kinda liked. He'll be found not guilty, be murdered in the final episode and the 3rd series will be another whodunnit with pretty much the entire core cast having a motive.

Gave up on the Sandbrook stuff. Just not interested and Gwen from Torchwood is so fooking irritating.

That is exactly what I reckon will happen as well.

Yeah I agree, nice to see it become exciting and dramatic instead of the cringe-stained shite we've been served for the last 7 hours.

It's the most ridiculous and insulting conclusion imaginable. It completely makes the last 2 seasons of Sandbrook stuff irrelevant. It's not even a well done twist...it's just weird.

Really? I'm confused as to how they could have better tied it off. If one of them killed the girls, or that weird stalker dude, it would have been implausible. But the 3 dodgy fuckers, all in on the murders, fits.

I'm not sure what you thought happened or what you wanted to see happen.
