Assuming that Mowbray is still in charge for this on Saturday, we should be confident. He called his players 'babies' in a man's league, which is never a good thing! Having said that, we've all seen this one before, team comes to Vale having not won a game in 10, confidence at rock bottom, manager under extreme pressure, disillusionment among fans and they get a result against us. We're brilliant at it!

We were really good against Millwall the other night and just looked comfortably better than them. We look awesome at home and I just hope it's the catalyst for better away performances! Just like the other night, we need to come out of the traps early and get an early goal which will hopefully shatter Coventry's fragile confidence.

Grant is suspended, which is a big loss for us and I hope he's replaced by Amoros who is busy and not afraid to get his foot in. Other than that, just keep the team as it is.

I'll go for 2-0 Vale, I'm never usually this confident but you've got to be with our form at home.

We are in great form at home and well placed in the league, Coventry are rock bottom and couldn't buy a win so this should be a comfortable Coventry victory

We have to be winning this really considering Coventry's position and our home form and performances and this will be a big test of character for us.

We have comfortably seen off Millwall and Scunthorpe and performed a superb turn around against Gills but this time the expectation of winning will be upon us so we have to do the business rather than the usual fearful Vale cock up.

We seem to be different to normal years though so hopefully we will get the result to keep us at the top end.

Scunny v Bury this weekend so a chance we could be top 2 isn't there?

Don't say things like, getting dizzy here

I hate this optimism! It feels so unnatural and we are being relegated by Xmas and in admin by Jan remember!

With our scintillating home form and Coventry's woeful start to the season you'd think this is as big a home banker as they come, but we all know that football doesn't always work out that way. Coventry will turn up with a nothing to lose and everything to gain mentality, without any pressure, and probably without a manager, and the danger for us is not taking the game as seriously as we should. Whenever a team has been on a shocking run in the past we've always seemed to generously gift them a win, and hopefully that doesn't happen here. If we play anything near to our best we should win by a few goals, the table doesn't lie and we're a better team than they are, but wouldn't be surprised at all if we have a shocker as we've seen it all too often in the past.

Granty being out is a blow, but in Brown and Amoros we have two very capable replacements. Hopefully Thomas will be back but loanee Sam Hart had a really good debut for us against Millwall and it would be harsh to drop him from the team.

We have to be ruthless, start with the high tempo football and basically be as good as we have been at home. If we start fast and put in the level of performance we have seen against your Scunny and Millwalls then we will likely come out with a seventh home win in seven.

The worry is we give Coventry encouragement with a sloppy start or poor attitude, bottom or top we need to treat them with the same respect as we did Scunthorpe, do that and it will be a very long afternoon for a confidence shattered Coventry.

Hopefully unlike Page/Adams in the past that have been more cautious managers in their approach to games the difference to us usually gifting teams a win when on a bad run is that Bruno generally is aiming to actually win the league and setting out with that attitude in his players. Although Coventry are bottom and their squad isn't as good as say last season or the years before with no Clarke, Wilson, Armstrong, Cole etc I still think they are in a false position and will pull themselves to mid table so won't be an easy game.

Michael Brown at 40 starts for Grant... happy with that, Kjell out injured but Jerome Thomas is back.

Big boost is Forrester on the bench after injury.

Proper x rated bad performance from us. Slow, giving the ball away including for the goal. Even Jones is having a mare.

Missing Grant badly

How obvious it is we miss Grant today.

Grant isn't responsible for us gifting them chances by giving the ball away constantly and doing the basics. Losing is one thing but to put in that sort of performance is another. Any conference side would of beat us today it was that bad.

Thank you Vale I knew of all the teams in the league I could rely on you lot for our first win.
Well done the babies.
No doubt will be bottom again next week as our game is postponed

Still livid, interesting comments from Bruno too! Apologised rightly and dragging them in tomorrow. So disappointed to lose our run like this, expected someone like Bolton, or Charlton but to lose it to Coventry is pretty piss poor.

Have to question the attitude of the players today, 9 or 10 let us down with very under par performances and work rate, only Hart can hold his head up.

So much giving the ball away in danger areas too! I think every single chance Coventry had was down to us mis placing a pass! Both goals were mis placed passes and at one point Alnwick played a short goal kick to their striker 18 yards from goal.

Worst performance at Vale Park in a couple of years easy and the first non top six side to beat us since May 2015.

On another note we can't rely on one player like we do Grant. 2 horrific performances without him this season and we were lucky we weren't facing a top half side or we'd have been destroyed.
