Yeah I know about the weird pronunciation....lived in Alrewas for years, so know the area well!
Moving to High Bank Road, which seems to be OK. Have meant to go and watch the Brewers for ages, but never quite got around to it. Definitely will have a look next season, but will only be a platonic look, as I have too many years of watching the perennial underachievers under my belt (no, not the slags).

Moving to Winshill, pronounced Winsul by the way, bit rough up on the council estate up there mate !
Hope you enjoy your time in Burton and can get to watch the Albion when you can, more than welcome to join us anytime if you PM me.
Good luck to the cider boys except when you play us !
Also known as Gorbys Knob by the old UN's in the town.
Fuck knows why, what I do know is once put offer in on house in Winshill and me mam went mental, being from Donkey Island she said I was crossing over to the devil.

Nothing wrong with Burton. There's nothing of note here apart from a load of pubs, a few breweries, the only Marmite factory in the country and a football club but there's not a great deal wrong with Burton. If you live here then you think it's the biggest hole on the planet but it's only when you go on some of the more ropey away days that you discover that your hometown isn't that bad.

Winshill is sound, by the way. I grew up round there and a few of my mates and their families live round the High Bank Road area.

I just looked it up on zoopla. In comparison to Bristol and most areas it's bloody cheap! I wish I could buy a house for £140K. :(

I'm buying mine for £117000! £140000 is for the plutocrats.
Oh £117 000, must be down the bottom near the pub then.
Make sure the camera is one of them HD ultra things with night vision goggles on them:2thumb:

On the estate we're on about you could probably buy 5 of them fuckers with change
Why I haven't thought of this already and retired on the rental income is anybody's guess just shows what a dope I am.

Cos, by the sounds of it, you get less rental income via housing benefits than private rental so you'd be fucked.

Edit : plus the constant refurbs, rebuilds, from the trampy gets would eat into any profit.

The thing is Walkley and I bet Sheffield is the same as down here, if you sit on a cheap property for long enough, those areas can become fashionable especially if they are relatively near the city centre. The area near Ashton Gate was a relatively cheap area but it's now become sought after / fashionable and the prices have rocketed! Southville is now quite expensive and the stuck up pricks that have moved there call it 'lower Clifton'. Clifton is a seriously expensive area by the way, 7 figures for a rabbit hutch!
This is an example in Ashton, stupidly dear IMHO.

Our trip to Burton is their first ever home game in the championship. I can see this being a tougher game on paper as the fans (and I'd expect the players too) will be right up for it.

Last game of the season we play at Burton. Was hoping it would have been earlier.

Our first ever home game in the Championship, Bristol City ! That comes round nicely for you !
Stephen will have to put the kettle on and raid the cider aisles in the local supermarkets, 1,600 thirsty Bristolians know where he lives now! ;)

Going to make it a lot harder to get a ticket too. May not have sold out a Tuesday in November. No way will we not with it being Saturday, better weather and the last day of the season inflation.

The fixtures on the last day of the season are on Sunday at 12:00. Thankfully i have over 4700 points so won't have any trouble getting a ticket.

I have posted else where , it was announced this morning tht a temporary 1,000 seater stand is being built above the away end terracing which I think holds 1,800, thus giving an away capacity of 2,800. I think if I remember correctly it will be ready for the visit of the sheep.

As a newcastle fan not liveing far from burton i would love to go there. But doubt i will get a ticket due to its small capacity meaning small away allocation to season ticket holders only

Probably been mentioned but great away day, plenty of pubs, one about 500 yards from the away end serving Marstons beers and others with a Subway/McDonalds en route, standing terrace, fairly easy getting away. Only downside was the tiny bogs.

Other than that, brilliant and can't wait to go again this season.
