The Crewe Alex Twitter account's use of nicknames is appalling. They've just called James Jones "Jonah", that name belongs to Steve Jones only.

Even worse when they put a random y after names, Kingy, Foxy, Kingsleyey.

Yeah, they also can't stick to one nickname for Turton. It's been going between "Tormenting Turton", "Goes Past Turton" or "Turton Lost Possession" all night. They're not very catchy either.

Four unbeaten on the road now.
If only we could pinch the occasional point at home.

We sound pathetic as an attacking outfit. With a decent goal scorer and a creative midfielder we would do half decent this year as Garratt keeps us in so many games at the other end.

Seen someone on Twitter post "Just spare a thought for Vale fans now on their way home from Colchester with nothing." Yeah, not like they're 7 points better off than us with a much better team and have a team that actually try and attack and win games unlike ours.

I'm bored of playing for 0-0s every week, that attitude simply won't keep us up so why even fucking bother? Fuck off Davis.

Celebrating a 0-0 with Burton Albion, no disrespect to the ambitious East Staffs outfit and I envy their ambition, but we have become a laughing stock, most our fans are utterly thick as pigshit to celebrate the wasteful finishing of Burton and playing 90 minutes of trying to get a 0-0 for the umpteenth time in Davis' reign is not worth celebrating. We create little attacks, score no goals, we sell no players, we have no ambition, we have a useless manager, a useless board, we employ some of the worst players I've ever seen play for us. If it wasn't for Ben Garratt and a vastly improved central defensive pairing we'd be so far adrift we'd be washed up in the Bahamas by Christmas.

Try and win games? Not away from home we don't!

Fans actually jizzing over a 0-0 at Burton, wow.

No disrespect to Burton, we have no right to be beating you, but it's not a jizzworthy result and our manager should not be getting his arse kissed.

Albion played reasonably well but personally I thought we got our line up wrong tonight, no bite up front.
No real ambition from Crewe who really were there for the taking.
A dullish game overall and a woeful attendance of 2,666 including a guestimate of around 250 from Crewe.

I'm not celebrating a point tonight, nor am I fuming at it. First 15-20, we struggled to keep Burton at bay, some of their football was impressive. Our midfield(mainly King and Atkinson, quell surprise) went missing and we couldn't find the forwards. But we limited them to 1-2 decent openings and Garratt only had to make a handful of saves. Did make one decent save from Akins late on, but I don't think it was as good as the media reports made out. Didn't have anything of note up the other end bar a couple of floated corners which took about 3 months to arrive in the penalty area.

2nd half, more of the same. Slow start as per, got away with a couple of moments when it almost opened up for them. But after an hour, they started to tire and their passing became sloppy, as did their pressing and gaps started to appear. But our players(especially the forwards) ran out of steam, so couldn't capitalise on the spaces they were getting. Had a brief 15 minute spell when we had them a bit rattled, got a few corners, but couldn't make it stick. Didn't look overly troubled at the other till right at the end. Ray makes a silly foul right on the corner edge of the penalty area. Their guy curls it over the wall, hits the underside of the bar, bounces out(I think off Garratt) and we scramble it to safety. Those are the fine lines which work for and against you at times. On Saturday, it hit the woodwork and went in, today, woodwork and out. Deserved that luck though tonight, fully worth the point.

The back 5 and Haber can take credit for that performance, they grafted their bollocks off, in tough circumstances. Guthrie was my MOTM, barely put a foot wrong all game. Ray and Nugent also got stuck in. What pleased me most about the back 4 was their willingness to put a foot in and try and win the ball back, doesn't happen often enough.

Wilson struggled to get into the game, had a few openings and his pace could be an asset, but didn't make an impact. Not sure where that leaves him for Saturday. Inman was so bloody frustrating, kept wanting to cut inside and Edwards realised that and showed him inside every time, where the lost it. Our players have such an aversion to gettting to the byline, it's untrue. Colclough was the same when he went on, inside, inside, inside, all the time. Those issues are coachable, problem is, our manager probably can't see it.

My patience has run out with King. So idiotic that we've apparently got him on a "must play every minute' deal, he's fucking shit. Lightweight, decision making terrible, offers nothing when we are under the cosh. Still, wasting my time asking for him to be sent back to Swansea, he'll be here all season. It'll probably dawn on SD that he won't improve by around April time. Atkinson doing his best Casper the ghost impression yet again, did one or two things well, but Jones was far better when he came on, gave us so real energy and looked far more confident and positive in how he distributed the ball. Got to start on Saturday. He isn't a saviour, but I don't doubt for one second that he is twice the player Atkinson and King are combined.

Look, I know this was a continuation of the same issues we've had all season. Defend like hell, rely on the opposition not being able to score, offer little in attack, scrape out a result. But I really don't see what continually whinging about in on here achieves. Davis isn't going anywhere(I wish he was). We can't affect the boards decision, especially when we aren't losing games. All we can hope is that we manage to stave off relegation and that the board finally wake up and realise that goalless defensive results is all Davis is capable of achieving. Or maybe, hope we go down and that does it for the board? Dunno.

All I know is, I think the players are doing their best. The fact that they are in games every week and not getting battered(scoreline wise) despite the manager playing the wrong system and clearly doing an abysmal coaching job on them in training is to their credit. The team would look so much better playing a simple 4-4-2 or preferably a 3-5-2, but obviously SD thinks Harry is the only player who can play as the centre CB. He also clearly doesn't think Haber and LDV can play up top together, because....reasons. There are 2-3 I can't stand at the moment and want them far away from the first team, but the others I have got a bit of time for. They are frustrating as hell, but they are grafting and doing their best to get results in spite of the manager's cluelessness. We say of Davis that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Well, that seems true for the comments on here every week. Not sure what anyone's hoping to achieve by constantly pointing out the same issues over and over again. For me, I am just going to wait and hope the board come to their senses come the end of the season, regardless of what league we find ourselves in. That's the only way we will move forward.

As for Burton, they played some good passing and moving football(take note SD), were defensively solid(take note SD) and didn't need a big budget to do so. You could just see that their coaches had they well drilled, on and off the ball(take note SD). TNO is right, they are everything we should be. They are the epitomy of a solid, well run club, that has invested wisely, been savvy in the transfer market and been ambitious but in their own boundaries. The fact that they are near the top of the table should make our own board embarrassed, especially when you see what high regard JFH still holds us in.

All in all, yes, tonight was not great from an attacking sense, but defensively, we were solid and deserved our point. Burton will feel(as per every team) that they should have won the game, but they didn't. Their lack of goals will probably cost them a chance at the top 6, but I'd be surprised if they finished any lower than mid table. Credit to them though, doing really well, great to see.

JJ aside (fucking hell I'm agreeing with him again) there's some bitter c*** on here. I qualify this by saying a really want Davis to fuck off - but credit where it's due, we weren't bad last night. You can tell the ones that went the short trip to Burton and those that stayed at home determined to criticise no matter what we had done.

Fucking hell, we're even launching a tirade at players nicknames now? Jonah can only be used for Steve Jones? Try telling that to Rob Jones, who was also known as Jonah. Coco for Colclough? Yep, it's what he calls himself and has done since he was a kid. Coops - that's standard for anyone named Cooper. Foxy - again, that's been his nickname everywhere he's played.

It's pathetic the levels some fans here will go to just to put the boot in. We weren't bad last night and got a decent point. Yes, it's 'only' Burton, but they're a Burton that are up at the top of the table and deserve to be. It's all relative.

Maybe some fans are just at the point where a decent point at Burton doesn't get anywhere near making up for the club dying on its arse and as such aren't too fucked about immediate results, just hoping for change so we have a decent future and not one where we're fooking delighted we go to Barrow and get a point. Cos it'll all be relative.

Plus sitting at home and criticising is waaay more fun than watching us at the moment.

We weren't bad last night. Fucking get in, that's me back on board with the club. We were ok away at Burton, with 1 shot on target. I don't even care that we have been shit for 3 seasons and are bottom of the league again, we were ok at Burton, so I'm made up.

Some people genuinely miss the point. We pretty much average sod all shots on target a game. The opposition in games take the game to us each week because we're so predictable how we play. How on earth do we expect to win games if we're not even trying to win them? Yes the defence has improved dramatically and we have an absolute gift of a goalkeeper who deserves so much better than to play for us, but we're toothless up front and we never look like scoring multiple goals in games which would boost our attacking players confidence tenfold.

You don't stay up with "heroic" defensive 0-0s each week. But maybe some people are too easily impressed. After all it's not like Burton are on a goalscoring drought longer than ours and shipped in 6 goals in their last 2 games including 4 to a side in the bottom four...oh wait.
