Huge game for both teams. Both have stuttered a bit recently so 3 points is absolutely vital for either side. A draw won't do much for either of us.

We've looked quite poor in our last 4 or 5 games (Wembley aside) and I'm not expecting that to change much today, but if we can still somehow come away with the 3 points (like on Tuesday) at an extremely tough place to go then all the better. A loss would probably all but end our play off hopes unless Gills lose as well. 3 points for Burton would see them edge closer to the Championship, while a loss coupled with a Walsall win would be disastrous for them.

Looking forward to my first ever trip to Burton and sampling a couple of local ales. I don't think we've ever won when I've made a match thread on here but if it gives me a place to vent my fury after the game then all the better

What an absolute abortion of a game. Compounded by the fact results went very much in our favour today.

Burton were rancid but had the better chances. Our attacking players weren't bothered in the slightest. I've not checked but I don't think we had a shot on target. All the quality of Johnson's final and Hecky's first games has gone and unless the players buck their ideas up we're not going to finish 6th. I'd say Burton will be lucky to get second if they play like that for the rest of the season but the standard in this league is so bad that they'll probably still end up doing it. And good luck to them I say, hope they go up autmatically.

As for us, it's a point closer to Gillingham but we HAVE to start testing the opposition keeper instead of pissing about with it on the edge of the box only to lose it to a defender.

The Nigel clough effect in full effect again.
We can't score
We look devoid of ideas how to break teams down
We are relying on others to lose

But good old Nigel is back - how great for the sentimentalists.
We won't go up automatic.
Can't see us beating Wigan.
Hope this comment is shoved down my throat if I'm wrong but i can't see it.
And we won't have the legs for the play offs either.
We have needed a goal scorer since Jan but we never got one.

You're right. Burton Albion should be pissing this league. I miss the free flowing attacking football of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Anyone we beat before he left can attest to the fact that we looked every bit a top 2 team back then. It's not like he fucked off to a bigger club that paid him much higher wages because he saw this coming a mile off if we sold our best player and knew his stock was about as high as it would ever go with Burton Albion.
