First of our 2 games in hand, both against teams in north Manchester.

I'd be very tempted to make changes for this game, go with 3/5 at back. Don't fancy our 2 CBs against Leon Clarke and Tom Pope, 3 would make more sense I think. Keep the 2 in midfield and maybe drop Haber, have a false 9 of Inman/Coco? Wouldn't blame SD for keeping it the same though.

As for Bury, they stopped the slide with an away win at Oldham. They are generally pretty solid at home and always have goals in them. I'd imagine after a spirited performance against Wigan, we'll come out flatter than a wet fart at a wedding and lose this one comfortably. Not expecting anything from this game, just happy that we seem to be in the Cemetery Road end of the ground, a much better stand for away fans, the Manchester Road end is bloody awful. 3-0 defeat. Clarke(2) and Lowe.

The words 'North Manchester' don't offend me and many others.
I suppose you do risk upsetting the Bury branch of the Flat Earth Society though.
An interesting group of people - they seem to think that if you travel about 4 or 5 miles south the roads suddenly turn into a seething, spitting cauldron of molten magma and that any form of life that exists there should never venture into Gigg Lane - 'they're not like us' they mutter.

As for the game, don't write yourselves off yet!
We have a habit of being very kind to out of form sides!
Enjoy the Cemy End - a better view, a better smell and nothing short of palatial when compared to the MRE!

Well Crewe's predicament takes me back to christmas 2012 and a game we dominated only to lose 1-0 with a late Crewe goal. Summed up my time at the club that game, I wasn't to blame though, it was the bulk of garbage I inherited that caused that pathetic defeat.
Surely Crewe are due a result at giggle lane? One of my biggest supporters on my fan page posted this morning saying Crewe's last victory at gigg lane was 1993 and that was his first ever Bury game. Wow that is some poor form Alex.

Anyway the consensus from the Bury fans who have been posting on my fan page seems to be that Bury won't win this one. Have to agree, was at boundary park promoting my new book 'will there be a footballing rainbow: Kevin Blackwell dreaming of a better brand of football' and Oldham could have easily earned a point if they had anyone up front of Kiegan Parker's quality. Bury laboured to the win and can see them doing that classic Bury thing tomorrow of messing up against teams out of form, precition .... Bury 1-1 Crewe (late Crewe goal after DF has tried to sit out the second 45 mins and earn a 1-0 win).

Might want to brush up on your geography. Pretty sure Bury resides in Greater Manchester. The north of Greater Manchester. :dk:

Bizarre attitude you have.I'd have expected you to be fiercely proud of your 'independence' and separateness from Manchester.
I know if I was from Bury I'd have a very different attitude to yours.

Blizzard attitude?
I thought the bit that says 'location:Manchester' might have been a big clue?
Or do you think I'm making that bit up FP?

Well that, was fucking dreadful! Inept performance on and off the pitch. We have Burys woeful finishing to thank for that point. The players(midfielders and strikers mostly) were gash. Then our clueless manager forgets we are 9 points adrift and goes for a point by taking 2 forwards off for a LB and a CM! Fuck me, what an embarrassment he has become!

Seriously, Bury should have won that by 3 or 4, but Leon Clarke decided to miss a sitter from 2 yards out and then hit the inside of the post. Saturday, I felt it was a point earned. Tonight, it was a point handed to us by a team who couldn't hit a barn door sitting on the padlock.

Coco had a decent chance in the first half, Inman blew a great opening by wanting a touch and Haber had 1 cleared off the line late on, but other than that, we created nothing. Very very fortunate tonight. Formation is awful, doesn't suit any of our players. Need to change it on Saturday, can't keep dodging bullets. Finally, I'll renew my call for Steve Davis and James Collins to fuck off, they haven't got a clue how to run a football team. Never seen a more inept pair in all my life.

First away I bothered doing for three months and it was worse than ever. We're literally playing for draws every week now and we're such an embarrassment. And then you have melts saying what a great point it is. These people are the sort who would hang their washing out in 1940s London when the air raid sirens went off.

Awful formation as said by JJ, slow inept pedestrian football, fullbacks were wank, central midfield can't hit a decent pass, forwards fed off scraps. How Leon Clarke missed that sitter I don't know. Dreadful performance and yet we have knobhead saying what a fantastic point it was.

Fuck off Dull Davis and Clipboard.

Few more comments now I'm home. I can't stand this boxing and shadowing style we play when all the off ball. All we do out of possession is mark space. We don't close people down and we don't make tackles. The end result is teams passing it round us with ease(because, you know, they move around, totally alien concept at the Alex mind) and creating loads of chances. In possession, our wingers are often starting so far back they can't give support to the strikers. The full backs don't get forward anywhere near enough and when they do, lo and behold, Turton almost sets up a goal and Bakayogo also created problems when he got forward. Midfield 2 can't control a game, don't position themselves properly, always far too deep which again means they find it hard to get forward. Haber is useless when playing upfront by himself. When Coco can't be bothered like tonight, he's useless. Cooper is asked to defend far too much, totally ineffective when most of his touches were on the right hand side of our penalty area.

As for set peices, James Jones is a professional footballer, yet he can't cross a corner past the 1st man. 4-5 times he hit it into the same spot tonight! However, despite this, Davis either can't coach him into how to hit it better or doesn't react accordingly by putting a man at the near post to try and win a flick on. Ben Garratt has no leg power, which means his goal kicks barely reach the half way line. Yet Davis doesn't drop Haber back from them to try and win more headers. Its so annoying to watch this team struggle and know that a new manager with half a brain and an ability to spot these little errors and coach them in how to do it better would see us probably do a lot better. I just can't get my head around those divs who think our issues are budget related. They are largely management related. It's so obvious, the evidence is right infront of you!

But Steve Davis got us to Wembley you know, can't help it if his budget is always cut, it's definitely not his fault, it's everyone else's fault.

I'm so embarrassed people actually think a point tonight was a good result, we were very very lucky to escape with one. Still at a loss as to how Bury didn't score at least 2 or 3 past us.

Woohoo, a point.

So glad I didn't waste my time last night after reading the JJ and TN1 posts. Not really surprising, 75% of our points have come from other teams inadequacies and Ben Garratt being alive.

Because we are Bury and always decide to be inept against teams out of form. Crewe were dreadful and still nearly nicked a win. We were wasteful in midfield and in front of goal. The idiot started with one central midfielder at right back, another central midfielder on right wing a weak utility man who should be coming on for 20 mins starts yet again and was anonymous. If we had started with players in their actual positions we probably would have won last night. Yes we have no right to beat teams but when you look at our budget and the players we have signed and taking into account that Burton sit top of the league on 57 points, 20 ahead of us (with probably a quarter of budget) then am sorry but 4 wins (all by a single goal), 9 defeats and a draw against rock bottom in 14 games is simply not good enough in my book. After getting much improved crowds earlier on in the season it seems Flitcroft is intent on undoing all that and driving the fans away with dour tactics. What kind of idiot starts a central midfielder at right wing when he has not one but two wingers on the bench.
We have two very tough away games coming up after the FA Cup game, lose both of those and we could be in serious trouble.

I feel like the time is rapidly approaching where Crewe fans turn into lemmings and start picking themselves off one by one.

No excuses for not winning last night. The quicker we forget about it the better.
