Newsletter Update: 13/11/2019
admin-November 14, 2019-News
Welcome to our latest update. Firstly, we have broken the 300-volunteer barrier! We thank you all for getting in touch and throwing yourself into helping in any way you have done. We move forward together.
We have had another busy month in our quest to get a team playing football in Bury by August 2020. Work on all fronts is moving apace, so please find the below as an update. If you have any questions on the below, please get in touch on social@buryphoenix.co.uk.
  • We have had meetings with the FA, FSA, Manchester FA, all within the last month. All positive meetings and we are on the right track.
  • Our team of experts are finalising our Business Plan as we speak. This is due to be completed within the next three weeks.
  • Budgets have been finalised. These are currently just to show our statement of intent and we expect them to be refined and adapted as we move forward. We have been purposefully conservative to ensure we don’t raise expectations for what is possible. We are adapting the budget regarding playing at both Gigg Lane and elsewhere. No final decisions have been made but a budget needed to be completed.
  • Our fundraising team have been busily arranging the sale of some merchandise in time for Christmas and our first formal fundraising event is due in the New Year. These will be communicated as soon as all is finalised – keep your eyes on the website and our media outlets for details.
  • We continue to be supportive of Forever Bury and any credible bidder who demonstrates the best interest of fans being paramount. We stand ready to help in whichever way we can. We will and have spoken to a number of interested parties and we will continue to do so.
  • We have over 1,250 responses to our Phoenix Club survey which was circulated on 5th November. We will be starting to collate the responses and deciphering the answers shortly so if you haven’t filled it out yet, we would still love to hear from you. Please click on this link – Bury Phoenix Club Survey 2019
  • We have launched our Website and associated social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook & Instagram). We are engaging on these platforms with all supporters and spreading the word of our Club.
  • We are supporting the pub get-togethers on alternate Saturdays across the season so far. These are taking place in the Stanley Conservative Club, Rose & Crown & Staff of Life to show our support to some of the local businesses which relied heavily on the income from football supporters. The next one is at the Stanley Conservative Club on Saturday 23rd November from 12 noon. Have a pint, chat with fellow supporters and watch some clips from yesteryear.
Bit of a short update at this stage but we hope this brings you up to speed. We will provide another update as soon as we can.
By the Fans, For the Fans.

All the very best of luck to Bury in getting back on their feet. Hopefully this is the last time Bury suffer from financial issues at the hands of an absolute to55pot shyster.

Hope to see you back at Edgeley Park in the near future

Just to clarify, if it comes off they will be placed into the Phoenix Brotherhood with the likes of Chester, Halifax 2008, Darlington etc.
We are expecting tier 9 North West Counties but hoping for higher (well we would wouldn't we)

Just to clarify further, there is NO SUCH thing as a Phoenix Brotherhood.

I am the founder and the sole administrator of the Brotherhood of Great and Historic Football League Clubs. NOBODY else has authority in these matters.

The Brotherhood comprises those clubs, in whatever form or guise they currently exist or don't exist, who were members of the Football League in 1986 (that is to say, before the automatic relegation into non league came into effect).

There is NO hierarchy within the Brotherhood, all clubs have equal standing.

Membership of the Brotherhood is for ALL TIME.

No club may leave the Brotherhood, no other clubs may be admitted.

Bury are STILL in the Brotherhood, and they will remain so as and when they are up and running again.

As you were.

As will now be aware, I am the founder and sole administrator of the Brotherhood of Great and Historic Football League Clubs. NOBODY ELSE has authority to act in this matter, regardless that one or two Wrexham and Hartlepool fans are pretending to have exercised a coup and taken control. They have NOT.

Rest assured that your club is a founder member of the Brotherhood, they are STILL in it, since membership is for all time, and no club may leave the Brotherhood, and will remain in it when you are up and running again.

All the best for the future, my Brother. Up the Shakers. :bdick:

What is this nonsense? :fish: Obviously I've never mentioned it before and I don't like to go on about it, but we're not a phoenix. :lac:

However, whichever "bruvver" league we are put in is fine by me, because a brotherhood containing Darlo must be the credible one.

Good luck. I would like to think that Dale, Bolton, Oldham etc offer you pre-season friendlies to give you some cash to help get up and running for next season. Certainly for Dale and Oldham I think it's in our club's interests that you come back eventually.

Don't worry about the old club/new club thing, it's a red herring. The entity that went bust was nothing but a holding company, a piece of paper filed at Companies House, a completely seperate concept from the club itself.

The club is THE FANS. In 2007, Leeds United's holding company went bust- they just transferred all the assets to a new holding company, shed the debt, and carried on as though nothing had happened. Are THEY a new club? Or how about Middlesborough, Bradford and Bristol City? They did exactly the same in the 80s. Nobody ever talks about them being new clubs. Nope!

Not surprised, the very same guy tried to employ a load of people for his fake betting company last year, he even procured Yeovil Town FC to sign a sponsorship deal. No money we could trace, and he lied through his teeth every 3 seconds.

What a tool. Nice, naive approach to administration too... Halifax Town FC went into admin and then out of business and left a load of local businesses out of pocket...but don't let that worry your deluded Tory head. When not conning local businesses out of money, your having the Shay funded by tax payers. In fact I can see why you are so subservient to Tory rule. Right up there street is that shyster strick.

As for your dunderhead examples of other clubs, those club's never lost their league registration. Your shower of sh1te did.
You support a new club, city fans and the rest don't.

May be but to my mind it's too big and expensive for us. Local MP, Council and Andy Burnham trying to broker a deal for a community stadium there with Gov levelling up fund so you never know.
Would need a lot of money to bring up to scratch, also the carpark scam would need very careful scrutiny

So how many Bury clubs are there now, 1? 2? Do you know what league you'll be playing in, and where will you play your home games? :dk:
