Hmmm, imagine if you'd said "anyone talking in rupees will never succeed over here. I wouldn;t even pick up your phone call or open your email for those reasons alone. Go away, buy an Indian team then move it to a different state". Would that be racism? Aren't you saying here you wouldn't want him because he's American? I'm always gobsmacked how even the most PC of PC wankers seem to think their rules don't apply when the subject is from the States. I once heard a senior member of human resources say to a room full of people, "I won't go to (some place i can't remember), it's full of Americans, I hate them". When I reminded her the company had an equality policy, nobody backed me up. These are strange times we're living in.![]()
You could buy Chester or another tinpot club.$150,000 won't even buy you a striker these days pal.
I'd never invest in a football club. If you wanted to invest in a NL club with the aim of getting them into the FL, then it could cost millions. I know there's exceptions where teams go up on a shoestring budget, but in general you will be pumping in 500k/900k if you want to build a team within a year. Not worth saving 10 years of salary imo for something which may go tits up!
Barrow were bought by a Dallas multi-millionaire 2 years ago when they were in the league below this for £500,000 (approx $700,000) so you'd need more cash that $150,000 just to buy a club. Clubs generally at the non-league level are a bit wary of foreign owners because several have walked out on the clubs after a while which doesn't go down very well. Barrow didn't have that worry as the guy in question was actually born in Barrow before moving across the pond to make his money...
I'm guessing he has enough money saved up from when he used to play for Spurs?I'm interested to know how a "side job" has enabled you to save $60,000 by the age of 19. I'd be tempted to stick with that.
I already explained how I got it.I'm guessing he has enough money saved up from when he used to play for Spurs?

Been over here for 27 years and the one thing I can say with any certainty is that Americans know feck all about football outside of the premiership. They don’t understand community, they don’t understand loyalty, they don’t understand traditions and they sure as shit don’t understand promotion/relegation. Your dream (although admirable) will come crashing down once you discover girls…….
Guess you are not old enough to get my 'joke'.
Here is MIDO and a previous tweet from him hence my poor attempt at humour!:

Whats wrong with that. Been supporting it my whole life, I'm not stopping for youThis thread is a classic. Love that he supports "Man U".![]()

So true... The "American Method" of selecting a football team to support goes something like this: Whoever's winning at the time. They dunno anything about their club's history, location, supporters. They probably couldn't even name a single team currently in League 1 or lower.Been over here for 27 years and the one thing I can say with any certainty is that Americans know feck all about football outside of the premiership. You're telling me that you've saved up 60k by the age of 19, presumably whilst also attending school by working a "side job"? This has rich North/Northwest/West suburban kid written all over it. Where in "Chicago" are you from?but my side job got me $60,000 saved up already
Supporting "Man U" doesn't mean anything here, there is no sense of community. It's basically just a status symbol.
I asked this months ago - if I could earn $60K by 19, working on the side, I wouldn't bother doing anything else. You're telling me that you've saved up 60k by the age of 19, presumably whilst also attending school by working a "side job"?
