Big game for both sides on Saturday. Cambridge have finally got a fully fit squad and are looking to score our first goal in 270 minutes. Meanwhile Luton will be hoping for their first league win this season.

I can see this game ending in a 1-1 draw and then Luton going on a unbeaten run.

What are your predictions and thoughts on this game?

Luton have got suspension and injury problems but with a good win in the week, they can't carry on with such poor form in the league. Maybe we have got them at the wrong time but I think this one will be a close game resulting in a score draw. 2-2.

we cannot settle with anything less than a win, which on current form seems like a tall order, even after the moral boosting 1st win in midweek.
however, that said,if all goes well with an away win then i can also see us engaging top gear and firing on all cylinders up the league and fulfilling those pre season aspirations.
if we lose........watch this space !!! still still or not still still!!

Just watched both managers pre game pressers. The more post Luton I see of Dickie, the more I like and respect him. Extremely articulate and intelligent interview. Also love and respect the fact he can get so wrapped up in a game he completely losses it - sadly with his own fans on occassion - but his heart is in the right place and clearly a smart man that's a decent Manager.

As for this game. Just like all the others. Great atmosphere very tight could go either way but has the added edge both teams need a kick starting win.

I watched the Luton - L'Orient paint cup highlights on Player, and I'm now more convinced they'll beat us. I don't know whether Orient simply didn't fancy it, or if they played a much changed side, but Luton were all over them, and Orient only scored because McFatty conceded a needless pen. Now. I don't want to sound like some kid on Outlaws, but I was impressed by Luton's slick passing and the rather easy way they carved open L'Orient's defence, and that's the biggest worry for me. Our new squad hasn't gelled yet, in particular our back four, and if Luton play anywhere near like they did on Tuesday, then I can only see a Hatters win.

Sure, anything can happen, and after all this is a 'kind of' derby match, but Roberts and co will have to improve a lot if we're going to get anything out of this game. I'm not being negative or anything, I'm simply being a realist, but hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

My prediction is 0-2 to Luton, but if Corr is fit then I'd say 1-2.

Att - full house

Arrests - circa 6-10

Don't panic - we've only got three senior defenders in the squad, two of whom were injured and didn't play, and the other one got taken off at half time with the flu.

Two of our three midfielders also had the flu and the other one ended up playing right back.

We also ended the game with five players on the pitch making their professional debuts (plus two more who have less than 10 pro games between them). All in all, I wouldn't worry overmuch that they fluked a last minute winner against us.

It was Cuthbert who gave away the pen not McNulty.

Quite looking forward to this, always had a soft spot for Cambridge and even more so now I'm married to a U and have just moved to the city!

We've got issues with suspension and injury, the weirdest of which being McGeehan who might miss the match after refusing a call up for the Northern Ireland Under 21 squad although the club are appealing that. Seems a bit ridiculous to me, if he doesn't want to play for NI then it should be his decision.

I can't see us winning to be honest and wouldn't be surprised if Cambridge beat us quite comfortably in which case there would be huge pressure on Still.

I think it will be a draw and if be ok with that I think, hope no one is planning on leaving a bit early as all of our games seem to be involving 90th minute goals at the minute!

Lucky you BFCH, welcome to gods own city. ;-)

I think we're going to lose and fail to score again. 0-1 or 0-2.

Muchos congrats!!!!

Welcome to the greatest city on the planet(even where I'm from isn't that bad HONEST!!! Least it wasn't when I was a kid) also nice one on the marriage front.

As for the game, I think it will tight as usual with neither team really trying for the win and can see it quite easily finishing 0-0, personally feel Luton will Nick it by the odd goal though. We've supposedly got a fully fit squad to choose from but we're just to short of any real consistency at the minute and feel confidence isn't as high as should be.

Luton haven't won this season yet but I think it's just a matter of time before they click into gear and get into their stride, just hope it's after the wk end.

We're definitely getting better as a side; just need the ingredients to mix together in the oven and form the cake. And a bit of luck in the league would be nice too.

In our office sweep, I've gone 1-3 Luton, but in all honesty, I don't think there will be many goals in this at all.

I haven't really got a clue what will happen on the pitch. Full house with plenty of constabulary enjoying the sunshine. I'm afraid it will probably kick off. Managers will maintain their dignity. Fans will not.

I know what I hope for and I know what I fear - both on and off the pitch.

There's enough in it, without the edge that has developed over the last few seasons, for it to be hard fought and full blooded. With our potential at corners and set pieces, I can see the scoreless run coming to an end - even without BBB Corr.

Oh sod it 3-1 with goals from Slew, Taylor and Corr ;)

Edit: Whooppeee!!

Barry Corr ‏@BarryCorr10 1 hr1 hour ago
  1. Barry Corr would be able to play the game against Luton Town this weekend at the Abbey Stadium #CUFC

We always, always, always, always kick start at least one poorly performing team's season every year, and this is set up perfectly for it.

Barry Corr 1-2 Luton. Donaldson will start and I'll die a little bit inside.

Donaldson not playing well this year? I thought he was one of your best players.

Got to say we're in a similar position of key players not starting this season particularly well either.

Donaldson, Berry, Roberts and Keane (albeit struggling with injuries) have all been very meh so far. The only players that I'd say have played well are Corr and Dunk. The rest have been very disappointing, even in the games we have picked up points in.

Frankly, we're there for the taking tomorrow.

Hasn't played well since Man United at home, not just this season. We didn't rest him for the league game we played 4 days after that cup tie and have paid the price ever since.

Legge has been ok so far. He's probably are best defender. And he's a massive threat at corners.

Have Luton heard back from NI yet regarding their appeal?

Yeah true I'm probably doing Legge a disservice by categorising him in the "very disappointing" group. He's been good going forward and ok ish at the back.

Don't know what to expect anymore, so I'll predict another 0-0 dud. It could quite easily end up finishing 3-3.

McGeehan has been a bit naive in not telling NI that he wouldn't be playing for them anymore before the selection process but it does seem vindictive and petty of the Northern Irish FA to envoke this rule, which I wasn't aware of and I dare say McGeehan wasn't either.

He doesn't want to play for them anymore, that's his prerogative and he should be allowed to make the desicion of where he employs his labour without impingement on his job and his actual employers.

To try and force a player to
play for you just seems very wrong to me.

He'll probably regret his decision one day. A bit like Chris Sutton when he refused to play for the England B team that day.

I'm guessing a reason for this rule was because a number of England players were pulling out of squads for so called 'injuries'.

Fancy this to be the line up today. We've got a lot of availability issues, almost out of nothing:

Subs: Justham, Lawless, Ruddock-Mpanzu, Cuthbert, Smith, Banton, Okuonghae.

cant pass to his own team member yet!!

Great finish from Guttridge but Dunn wants hanging for that. Shite goal again. We are fucking terrible at the back.

Laker - didn't see Guttridge's goal clearly so will have to see the replay, though I think it came off Legge?

Ataturk - Yes that's what I reckon, but a guy who was beside me was adamant it wasn't accidental as he thinks Dunk stuck out his hand to control the ball. Again, the replay should make everything clear.

My personal view about the game is that we played superbly first half, but gave them far too much time to pass the ball in the second. At times, I felt they were too comfortable, and that's even before the sending off. Still, I think we would've been able to perhaps get a point if we played the 90 with 11 men. Strange this, as usually we're poor in the first, but much better in the second, and today was the complete opposite of that.

Overall, whilst obviously disappointed, not surprised at all as I said before the game they'd beat us. We're specialists when it comes to kick starting some underachieving club's season. Plus, the team is nowhere near ready, and that's not just the back four. Midfield needs a lot of work too.
