Assume you're referring to Tomlin pushing his head against Lambert, in which case, Lambert should also have been off for pushing Tomlin in the face beforehand.
I was referring to his 2 dives, but you can add that to the list as well. I didn't even know they got involved. I'm guessing it was after you scored and Gunnarsson & Abraham were having a handbag waving contest?

He didn't dive in the first half it was a genuine slip/loss of balance.

Certainly looked like a dive from where I was!
He would have been booked if he claimed a pen I'm sure. He literally just lost his balance, there was no-one close to touching him so would have been a very silly dive

I'm biased though so don't read too much into it! :animatedf:

Tomlin only dived once, though that's too many times imo.
The one in the box was a genuine slip, the other dive he conned the ref, and really should have been booked for diving.

In the handbags after the goal Lambert shoves Tomlin in the face and then Tomlin puts his head against Lambert and pushes (not simply describing it as a headbutt even though it essentially amounts to one because I see a headbutt as what Zidane did in the World Cup final a few years ago, not pushing when your head is touching something already- not denying it should be a red if seen though.) so if Tomlin goes then Lambert has to as well.

Out of interest why should Bryan have been off? I'll rewatch the game later in the week depending on when it's put onto player and when I get a day off work.

It was a nasty challenge by Bryan, but not a red card offence. Didn't see much of the handbags after we scored, just that they immediately when up to o Neil to have a go.. as for the penalty on little, stone wall.. hoilett falls to the floor, then dives into littles legs.. how is that not a foul?

Think we should of had at least a point from this but we move on, still 5th remarkably after this round of games so it eases the blow.

I remembered a poor tackle by Bryan, but nothing any where near worthy of a red. Completely agree with what you've written there.

Could have been booked for the penalty, and there were another two occasions where he was late on Noone. Then there was an obstruction as well. Basically more of a totting up on him than just reckless play. In truth the ref was poor for both sides, which is something that happens in 99% of the games in the world.
I think they went up to O'Neil as he was going to play it out, but then carried on. Nothing wrong with O'Neil doing that as he doesn't need to stop play. I'd want us to do the exact same thing, but as I said last week we're a team full of soft touches.

Bryan was actually about to put it out, which he's been guilty of a few times and it's frustrating. O'Neil encouraged him to play on.. players always seem to expect the opposition to put the ball out when a players injured, the the law as we all know is that play only has to stop if it's a head injury.

They can't expect us to do that when feigning injury is a common tactic when time wasting, surely.. especially as we were 2-0 down!

Obviously O'Neill wasn't around, but wonder if a few of our players remembered Rotherham at home last year when one of their players was lying on the floor for 7 minutes but was perfectly fine and was running round like nothing happened as soon as he was back on the pitch.

Happens all to often.. assume warnock was in charge on that occasion too? Can't remember.

Not sure what can actually be done to prevent that sort of thing happening, all they can do is add the time on that the end but it's often wrong.

Yeah, that was Warnock too, he got the Rotherham job at the same time as LJ got the job for us.

Won't get no argument from me on that one, especially considering Immers hurt himself trying to tackle your boy! Winds me up no end when we do it for other teams as well. We certainly won't switch off like that if it happens again.

Well if you were before you're not now.
Just because Colin is in won't change anything. You think he could change someone like Whittingham?

As I said Bryan has been guilty putting it out in the past, did it a few weeks back and got stick for it.. if the ref doesn't order the play to be stopped they should play on definitely.

Re whittingham, he didn't even celebrate when he scored which I found off considering the atmosphere and the rivalry between the 2 teams. Guess he knew a job was still to be done and didn't want to do a Scott Murray type celebration in case he looked silly later on!

Always admired him though, quality player a few years back and someone I would of loved us to sign.

He very rarely does celebrate to be fair, I'd like to think it's just he is so cool about it all but in truth he probably can't be arsed!

Watching him now though can be so disheartening as he is nowhere near the player he used to be. One of those few who could turn a game on its head in an instant.

He already has changed things mate. The time wasting, the feigning injury, it's no coincidence that in his first game there were 7 added minutes at the end! Whittingham isn't going to start putting in 2 footed tackles but Warnock will certainly get him on board with all the other antics..

For the record I'm not slating it either, it bloody works and is exactly the reason I wanted him here last season!

I'm relishing it coming into full effect. For far too long we've been the nice guys of the league, letting teams play how they want, not time wasting etc.
I want us to turn into a Leeds of the 70s where teams despise us.
