Cardiff go into this match, under the control of new manager Russel Slade. The Gaffer who was previously in change of Leyton Orient was appointed before the international break and will take charge for the first time against the team he supported as a youngster.
Cardiff go into this match on the back of a 1-0 defeat, to at the time bottom of the table Blackpool. It was their first defeat in 3 league games, picking up four out of six points in that time. Forest are currently unbeaten this season, but have drawn their last four league games, only scoring two goals in this time. They currently sit joint top of the league table, only a one goal difference separating them and the top spot. The Bluebirds however are currently sat 15th place, two points behind 14th placed Leeds United.
Russell Slade will have virtually a full strength squad to choose from for his first game in change, the only absentees being Ben Turner (ankle) who is returning to full fitness but not quite fast enough for this match. They could also be without Bruno Ecule Manga who only returned from international duty on Thursday night.
Forest will be boosted by the return of Kevin Wilson (illness) and David Vaughan (hamstring) who will take their place in the match-day squad. However they will be without defender Jack Hobbs who has an ankle problem and looks to be out for a while.
I have done pretty well in predicting the starting line-ups recently, so I will be hoping to keep up my good form here. My predicted City XI is-
01- Marshall
02- Brayford
03- Fabio
16- Connolly
36- Morrison
11- Noone
17- Gunnarsson
20- Daehli
38- Morrison
09- Jones
10- Le Fondre
And my predicted Forest line up is-
01- Darlow
02- Lichaj
04- Mancienne
06- Wilson
13- Fox
08- Cohen
10- Lansbury
18- Antonio
27- Burke
07- Fryatt
09- Assombalonga
While I would often back Cardiff to grab a victory, I don't think they will be able to completely overturn the Forest machine. I am predicting a 1-1 draw in Cardiff.
