Less than average game. Cardiff don't have much about them anywhere on the pitch (the CB-pairing isn't reassuring at all) and Newcastle aren't doing much despite having better players. It's impressive how Shelvey went from having a great start to having a god awful half. His corners are a shambles.
A few chances here and there but not a great watch overall. Newcastle should be down to 9 men though. Kenedy should have had a straight red for kicking Camarasa while Manquillo should have had a second yellow for shirt-pulling. Manquillo has been struggling all half and was limping in stoppage time. He should be subbed imo.

It's something strange with Kenedy. When you watch him a lot of the time you feel like he should be playing at an even higher level than Newcastle (no disrespect intended to my good and loyal friend G.B ). He offers something no other player in this Newcastle side does, he's someone you often mention as one of the better players and then he does, well, this. His lowest performance levels are absolutely atrocious and then you do see why Chelsea let him go.

Strange player, and cost his side a win today. Quite similar to Shelvey, in that sense. Both very talented players.

Wow, I have learnt of a damning injustice from the match yesterday.

There are FIVE opposition players encroaching on the penalty taker. As per Law 14, this is an infringement on the rules for a penalty kick and should result in the penalty being retaken.

Kenedy, you are absolved of your blame for today's performance. The referee has simply let you down, and I will reconsider my decision to remove you from my fantasy team.
