Hugill did that against us although not as bad as tonight.. remember his old pal bailey giving him a shove when he got subbed

Cardiff did look wank mind, Preston better on the night

If your club gets there way you'll be seeing a lot more of that from him in the second half of the season.

Still not buying it that we're in for him.

You're very interested.

Hugill would sign a new deal but only if it includes a release fee. With the way transfer fees keep inflating I agree with the way we're going about it.

Can't see us being in because of the finances, after Diedhiou being our record fee (£5.3m) the next is just under £3m, no way we pretty much double our record fee for Hugill and doesn't he want £20,000 per week? That makes him our highest paid player where our average is probably around £10,000. It doesn't fit with the transfer philosophy we're employing at the moment.

Are we? Nothing our end mate, doubt we'll go for him.

Didn’t see a lot from him tonight to warrant such a massive fee. He showed glimpses of good touches but never worth more than what we paid for Diedhiou!

You've offered the money before though, Gray, Gayle?

Hugill is like any other player and wants as much as he can get. He's on very low wages by championship standards and come into the professional game late.

You're very interested as I say but so are a lot of other clubs in this league, whether you're interested enough to pay the money we want remains to be seen.

£6m initial fees with significant add ons and even then couldn't stump up the wages. I don't blame Hugill for wanting as much as he can get, fair play to him its not a long career, but just stating it doesn't fit our transfer philosophy to pay that much.

Hugill isn't the type of player to stand out with his magical touches and skills. However, what he will offer you is a willing runner, he puts himself about and occupies a couple of defenders. He'll chip in with a few goals aswell, his tally has improved each year he's been with us.

Never in a million years is he worth the money that's being banded about for him but that's the way the market is.

The best two players on the pitch tonight for me where Pearson and Davies, we'll be talking scary fees in a few years for those two if we manage to keep hold of them that long.

We're playing the game. We've no debt and no need to sell, so any player that leaves will be for over the odds. In regards to wages that wont be a problem, Hugill isn't being paid what Newcastle pay players. He's on minimum wage in footballers terms.

Nobodies saying Hugill's as good as them two players but just in the same way you rejected big money for the very average Aden Flint, we can do the same as we're in the position to do so.

If you're on about Birmingham they bid about £4m for Flint and Joe Bryan combined

You may laugh but Flint is very average and until this season Bryan wasn't even rated by your own fans?

Flint isn't average, Bryan wasn't great last season but it'd have probably taken 5m just to prize him away as Johnson has always loved the geezer.

Not our thread anyway, enjoy your win tonight.

Colin came out after we twatted them 3-0 saying it wasn't cos we are good but because they were tired. He also moaned at the amount of abuse he got and said they will be fired up for the return game. would be fucking class if we shithouse a 1-0 win in the 98th minute off Hugill's bell end.
Close enough for me

Big result that, couldn't find the match in Poland but seems a deserved win.

Don't think we will consider any Hugill offers while were in contention.

Our first choice defence is as good as any in the league.
