Carlisle host Stevenage this weekend after two successive victories in the league, beating Tranmere and Hartlepool. Stevenage arrive at Brunton Park on the back of a defeat against Luton. Carlisle also played in the JPT on Tuesday night, losing 5-4 to Tranmere on penalties. These teams played each other last season when Carlisle won 3-1 at Stevenage with Graham Kavanagh in caretaker charge, with the game at Brunton Park ending in a 0-0 draw. Graham Westley this week described Carlisle as 'one of the best league two sides in a long while,' despite the Cumbrians current league position.
Goalkeeper Mark Gillespie (groin) is still out injured for Carlisle, as well as Courtney Meppen-Walter and Matty Robson (both knee.) Antony Sweeney (shoulder), Billy Paynter (Calf) and David Amoo (Hamstring) all face fitness checks before 3pm on Saturday. Keith Curle will also run the rule over some new trialists throughout the week. Stevenage are without Simon Walton and Harry Worley, Sam Beasant, Calvin Zola, Cameron Lancaster, Adam Marriott and Jerome Okimo.
It's very hard to predict who will play for Carlisle this weekend, due to Curle making six changes on Tuesday night in the JPT. It's likely that they will play 4-4-2, and i am expecting recalls to the team for Troy Archibald-Henville, Danny Grainger, Brad Potts, Kyle Dempsey and Mark Beck. Stevenage are most likely going to stick with their 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation that they played against Luton last saturday. However, i doubt their starting line up will differ to much due to not having many experienced faces on the bench.
Yet again, i think Carlisle will win this one...3-1.
