Really need to win this game after back to back defeats, but it will be a tough game against another top side.

We sounded dreadful against Luton, but another performance like the Shrews game and we should be able to get something from the game.

Wycombe beat us 3-1 earlier in the season, and they've been up the top end of the table all season. Us, on the other hand, have remained in the bottom half all season, apart from a spell in the 1st game against Luton.

Think we'll win 2-0, Wyke and Dempsey the scorers.

We've been saying it for a while, but this will be Curle's first draw. 2-2, Wyke and Rigg.

I seen on Cumbrians.net earlier that Paynter is back from injury and is available. Would you play him, put him on the bench, or just leave him out?

Our attacking depth looks stronger now with Rigg, Wyke, Asamoah, Beck; so I don't think he warrants a place in the current team based on his early performances. He appeared to lack pace (to be expected), fight and skill, unlike Rigg and Wyke who put in energetic performances week-in week-out.

we need to get something out of this after 2 poor results, whether we actually will or not remains to be seen. Ainsworth has said we're desperately chasing loan players so hopefully we'll get someone in, although unless we've already signed someone and they're mysteriously keeping schtum about it, no chance of any new players featuring tomorrow.

I think we maybe are hitting Wycombe when they hit this decline/collapse that we've all expected most of the season from a Wycombe side who have defied the odds all season and fair play to them, if they grab a top 3 place this season ainsworth deserves manager of the season in L2 regardless of who gets top spot.

but the reports usually have the viewpoint that Wycombe use the old 'every trick in the book' style to get results and that could work in Carlisle's favour and I hope that they do, plus we get some useless ref who lets them use 'every trick in book'

Carlisle crowds are usually negative and quiet, the home games work against us sometimes due to a horrible atmosphere, but if you get a horrible time wasting, dirty tricks type side with a useless lump of a referee to wind our home fans up into a frenzy of annoyance it normally gives our team a good kick up the backside boost.

I had been marking this game down as a win from this tough period due to these aspects, but I think this game is Vital to wycombes possible promotion push, another failure to win and suddenly it looks like they are dropping out of the picture.

At least Paul Hayes is in contention to start, in fact the only player injured at the moment is Kretzschmar and as we're better away (Only 1 defeat only matched in England by Man City) i think we'll get back to winning ways with a 1-0 win. Ainsworth had said earlier we didn't need anyone coming in but thank god he's changed his mind, we need a decent striker but not a young lad with no experience.

Come to think of it didn't we sign Alfie Mawson on loan on the saturday morning of the 1st game of the season and started with him?

Wycombe to get back to winning ways and hammer another nail in our coffin.

0-2 defeat. I hope I'm wrong obviously.

We havn't scored more than 1 goal a game since December 13th (4-1 at home to Southend).

hmm... we've scored 2 or more goals in over half our home games since Curle took over (contrived stat of the year)... however seem to have gone off the boil at home somewhat lately. Also there have been only 3 'nils' for either side in the games we've played since the new year. We haven't drawn a game in 25 and have the highest combined goals for and against in the division.

So 0-0 it is then.

Forgot the Arsemower was at Carlisle these days, I'll cry if he scores against us.

But we have the worst defensive record in the league.

really dreadful first half display from us. Wycombe should be out of sight but I don't hold out much hope that they'll be made to regret those misses. They'll score again and put the game beyond us early in the second half.

Still only 1 away defeat all season only equalled by Manchester City and 9 away wins. :woo: Bloody hell though we almost f*cked it up!

What a shit game.
Would've loved to pull that comeback off, but Beck getting sent off finished it.

Wycombe's second and third goals were quite good, and their 2 wingers were dangerous all game. Our defence was very poor, apart from Brough who played well again. Missed Troy at the back.

Well that was really an awful performance from us... as poor as any team in this division have been. 3-2 flattered us massively... one goal out of nothing and another penalty, and if Wycombe's forwards hadn't been having such an off-day they'd have smashed us six or seven to nowt.

Looking at the Wycombe goals, it just goes to show how much we suffer from our frailty once we concede. Had it been 2-2 then it would have been an extremely unfair result on Wycombe, but it could well have been 2-2 had we just kept our heads after conceding the second instead of falling apart and conceding a third almost straight away. We do score goals as a team, and too many times we've given up on games when all seems lost, only to regret it when we we pull a goal or two or even three back.

The tactics were just wrong. Without Troy and Griffiths we lacked all the solidity we'd been slowly adding to our performances. Even if Griffiths has had a couple of poor games, we know what he gives us and I think sometimes you just need to stick with players who can give you what you need some of the time rather than try messing around with players who probably won't give you that any of the time. Hopefully Dicker will return from injury soon because we're crying out for more consistency and I think he and Griffiths would be a good no-nonsense midfield pairing to try and drag us out of the shit.

Only positives... other results weren't as bad for us as they could have been, and you can pick out a few decent performances among our side. Sweeney, Wyke, Amoo and Asamoah I think can all feel that the others let them down... maybe Brough not so much of a let-down and you can't blame Rigg for the defeat but mainly it was attacking players showing we might be able to grab something on the break but midfield, defence and the goalie letting us down.

On this display we don't have enough about us to avoid relegation... all we're relying on now is Cheltenham being worse than we are over the remaining games. If Cheltenham manage to steady their ship then we're done for.

We are a terrible team, possibly the worst I've ever seen at this level.

The only worse teams I've seen are some of the shite we tanked in our conference season.

That was awful, had to leave when the second went in.

I wish Curle would stop fucking about as well, pick your best XI and stick with it.

Christ, that was some serious comedy defending on the highlights, ours with the CUFC goal from open play wasn't too smart either but at least we didn't keep doing it.

The penalty looked soft but we've had a ton of soft ones in our favour so meh.

The red card should not have been given, it's a massively inept tackle but didn't look malicious at all, he seemed to sweep our player's feet away rather than kick him or whatever.

From where I stood I could see he'd gone in with his legs apart and hit Jombati with his nutsack rather than his legs. The referee seeing Jombati go flying was very quick to run over there and had the card out before he even got there. We were a bit frustrated with the ref for his eagerness to send Beck off but there weren't a lot of complaints at the time from the fans around me or from the commentators on BBCRC.

Playing Grainger at centre-back was a massive error. If Curle had wanted to rest Troy to ensure he was fit enough to play Cheltenham next week then he had Meppen-Walter at his disposal to play at the back, or even Buddle. Brough did do better at left back though and was perhaps the best choice in that position.

Spiegel looks like being a massive mistake on our scouts' part unless it was all part of the plan to give Hanford a massive confidence boost so he comes back in for the next game and plays awesome. Find someone with even worse kicking, let Hanford watch from the bench and then say to him after the game 'this is what you looked like last week'.

As for midfield, we really need Griffith in there. Even if he wasn't at his best against Luton, he's the right player for that role. Changing to a system with creative players in front of an isolated Meppen-Walter breaks the system we had. Meppen-Walter can't protect the defence on his own and our centrIf we want to be tough to break down, Griffith and Meppen-Walter works.

Resting Rigg for Asamoah was a reasonable call. I like to see us use the options we have up front, and we have a few. Asamoah played quite well I thought, and we can ask too much of Rigg seeing as until last summer he was only training once a week.

Lets be honest we were Should have been 7-2 not 3-2. Lets try to Atleast keep the score down at southend and then we have a run of very winnable games. We need to get behind the team no matter how shit they are...

Well so much for my hope of horrible away tactics spurring us into a valiant victory, sounded on Radio like we were so outplayed for the first 60 minutes we frankly never even began spurring on. Fair play to Wycombe though because on a much weaker budget, with even more upheaval than we had they frankly have ended up with a much much better side than we have and it probably highlighted just how backwards we have gone the last 2 years, although it is also hope you can be horrendous this year and good the next.

I think the game may have been a bad turning point with Curle as it seems like he made a load of shocking decisions, before, during and after the game and I can see reading the board afew fans have lost confidence with him completely. He drops the solid spine of the team before the game, he switches it already after just 25 odd minutes (and I'd guess took off the scapegoat fans have been annoyed at him taking off all time) then came that utterly drivel ridden ridiculous aftermath interview which I think personally could be the worst interview I've heard from any Carlisle manager ever......and when you consider that has Collins and Abbott interviews in it that is pretty bad.

I was walking to gym just cringing at how dreadful that interview was going and thinking how many fans were getting annoyed the longer it was going on, I know curle got as such 'put on the spot' but his reaction was just awful.

ah well on the slight positive, one more horrendous game left of this run of death then some bigger, more change to win games to come up.
