Live on Sky Sports on Sunday..

With our league form i;d expect a tonking here. Be interesting to see the recemption Ched gets, really hope he scores though.

Think it's first time we've not sold out (nowhere near either) as many are planning protests/boycotts.

I'm not bothering either, only been to 1 home game this season and have no plans to hand over any money any time soon to the Deedah Mafia in charge.

3-0 Sheff U + a lot of piss taking to go with it.

Bit gutted I'm missing this but I'm sure a week in benidorm will do just fine. Ched will get a fantastic reception of our fans that I can assure you of. I expect to win this game but this is football anything can happen but I'll go for a 3-1 win. 2 for Sharp 1 for scougall and a consolation from ched which will be roundly celebrated in all 4 sides of the ground.

The mood and confidence in the SU camp is the best in many years.
The mood and confidence in the CFC is the worse it's been for many years.

All our fans are United and for a fanbase that tends the be negative it's a real novelty that 99% of our fan base are feeling postive about the present and future of SUFC. Wilder has worked miracles already.

Agree with my fellow Blade.
Ched will get a fantastic reception from us, some would still love him to return.
In the final 6 months of his contract he was a real star for us, stood out a mile as the best player in league 1.

Chestefield have often been a bogey side for us over the years.
It's a local derby with ex players (Ched Evans ans Chris Morgan) and ex manager (Danny Wilson) in the Chesterfield camp so might be a lot closer than what people think.

Prediction Chezvegas 1 Blades 2

We used to play them regularly in the 80's when I used to to home and away and we always seem to lose.
Remember their star striker was a player called Ernie Moss who always seemed to score and one of their best players was a very young Danny Wilson (now their manager).

Just checked the records to make sure my memory isn't playing tricks. In the 80's we lost 6 out of 8. Lost every match at Saltergate, I went to 2 of those defeats, not been to Chesterfield since.

1979/80 Lost H Lost A
1980/81 Won H Lost A
1982/83 Won H Lost A
1988/89 Lost H Lost A

Since 1980 we've played 14 in the league
Sheff Utd won 6.......1 draw.........with Chesterfield winning 7
Before the 1980 season theres a long gap back to 1950/52 season when we last played them.
Didn't realise that our recent record is decent against them, so not such a bogey side anymore but over the last 14 matches it might surprise some to realise their record is slightly better than ours.

You can't have a fucking bogey side at the minute from matches played 30 years ago ffs.

You're suck a keyboard warrior, kids eh ha ha.

Bogey side are normally a run of run results over an extended in time, commonly known as historical results.

I remember a time when Chesterfield were widely known as a United bogey side but for anyone in your 20's they wouldn't know. I've already admitted that based on the last 3 years results then we have got rid of that jinx, So they are currently NOT a bogey side and you were correct.

We're currently losing 1-0 but sounds a good match with chances.

Had a few Blades fans telling me that quite a few of their players would get in Wednesday's side and they could beat us in a game, on the basis of this not one of their players would get near our bench.

Think we're doing well so far. We've got the goal and had the best opportunity outside that too. Nolans goal was different class, good enough to grace any level. I worry that we keep dropping and deeper and reckon we'll pay for it soon, but if we get another it will start to feel a lot more comfortable. We're just being a bit wasteful with the ball when we get up the United half sometimes

United will win this now, Chesterfield are dreadful they just don't look like getting anywhere near the goal.

We've scored a goal, hit the bar and had one cleared off the line?

Spirite,

I think the timing of scoring a goal is so significant.

You scored from your first shot, your confidence was up (for a change) and you played well for the next 15 minutes. But naturally SU gradually got into the game, became more postive as Chesterfield starting sitting back.

At half time the commentators on Radio Sheffield both said SU were starting to dominate but struggling to create clear chances because C were defending well and in numbers but the Chezzie commentator said it was a dangerous tactic inviting pressure.

Just before half time you had a break away attack and almost scored hitting to cross bar, that would have made it 2 nil.

The 2nd half seems to be continuing in the same vein as the latter end of the 1st half.
SU having most of the attacks and chances, C sitting back protecting the draw but looking good on the break.

Phew......Ched Evans almost scored... cleared off the line.
The commenters seems to think it's only a matter of time before SU score and maybe Danny Wilson needs to change his tactics.

Thought we were doing OK even at 1-1...then fucking 70 year old Humphreys coughing it up in the middle of the park under no pressure absolutely shat it for us. 2nd goal a few seconds later is just poor too...

And you are so wise and talk sense. No self awareness what so ever.
I would think you have done more away matches. I went to most away matches from 84 to 87 on Shreds coaches from the Greyhound pub at Attercliffe then just picked the odd away match after that, mainly new grounds, apart from 2 years under Bassett from 89 to 91 went to half the away games.

Anyway does it really matter.
We'll all Blades aren't we and at this moment I would be more than happy to buy you a pint.

It hard not to get carried away, we just keep playing well EVERY single week.
That's now 9 wins and 3 draws in our last 12 league matches.
