Tried bumping an old thread but couldn’t find one, our lovely chairman has set about banning people who disagree/protest about his leadership of the club.

And before anyone starts, the police only made one arrest.

Don't wish to intrude on private grief, but a friend who was there said their behaviour was appalling and violent. When I moved to Kent several decades ago, Gillingham were your archetypal lower league club in a ramshackle stadium. They were also broke and being perused by some chancer posing outside the gates with his girl band promising a celebrity takeover. Mr Scally is not my favourite person, but what would you have him do differently on current resources?

There was no overly appalling or violent behaviour any more so than any other match (anywhere in the country). That is unless you believe our lovely chairman.

The second part about us being perused by some chancer is interesting though, I’d ask if you remember (one of) the Mrs Scally’s singing live on the pitch when she was in some ITV talent show or other? Never mind that the man himself reportedly made his ‘money’ from selling second-hand photocopiers from bankrupt businesses.

Anyway, I’ve digressed. So here’s some stuff from the Gills fans in question:

That ‘fan’ is a well known nob PUB.
He hasn’t been to Priestfield for about 5 years.
He posted confidential documents online a few years ago and had to withdraw them pretty quick.
He paid for the wine and dine thingy at AFCW just so he and his mate could get in Scally’s face.
With regards to the anti-Scally mob on Saturday, I was in block 2 of the Rainham End and the anti mob near me were very aggressive and threatening anyone who wouldn’t join in their purile chants.
There were women, including female staff, quite distressed in the Factory at half time.
There are going to be more fights and rows between our fans going forward as this lot seem to believe that everyone should share their view even though they are quite a small minority.
Everyone has the right to express an opinion but to berate and threaten anyone who doesn’t share it is wrong.
Personally I would rather the whole lot just fuck off, go home, and play with their action men.

I’m not sure threatening fans with ‘a red card’ since pre-season has helped Mr Scally’s cause, neither the pittance of a £60 refund for season ticket holders spread over 3 years for the covid season.

Nor holding a meeting this week to decide which fans should be banned after Saturday.

As things stand we’re heading in the exact same way as Southend and unless fans get their shit together now, it’ll be too late.

Surely he can’t go round banning Gillingham fans adhoc? They’ve hardly got any as it is!

I know Scally is a bit of a character and says things he shouldn’t, what exactly has he done wrong recently?

I heard he forced the playing staff to take pay cuts and apparently said he’s funded the club through his own money the last 18 months to keep it going.

Whens Evans contract up? He usually walks away from clubs tightening the purse strings.

just wondering what Scallys done now, as I said I understand why he isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

In short mate, he hasn’t spent loads of money the club doesn’t have.

Don’t forget we’re under a transfer embargo to do with the covid loans (quite what to do with the loan hasn’t been clarified).

Evans contract is up at the end of this season although to be fair to him he’s never had any money to work with here, and obviously the above makes a tough job harder.
