Arsenal - all you need to know
Finally the Premier League leaders, Arsenal, who look likely to have the trickiest task in the last 16...

How they got here: After a shocking start, with defeats to Olympiacos and Dinamo Zagreb, Arsenal bounced back with a famous win over Bayern Munich.

Arsene Wenger's side did enough to reach the final game with a chance of progress, and thrashed the Greeks away from home to make sure.

Who can they play? Real Madrid, Wolfsburg, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Zenit

Who do they want to face? Wolfsburg may have put out Manchester United, but on paper they are still the easiest side. Zenit would involve a long trip, but would not be impossible.

And who is best to avoid? Barcelona. Real Madrid are formidable, but out of form. Atletico are talented, but beatable. Barca, though, are the best team in the world. Avoid at all costs.

Manchester City - all you need to know
What about Manuel Pellegrini's side, who are also among the seeds?

How they got here: City were handed a tough draw, with Champions League finalists Juventus and Europa League winners Sevilla, but came through to top the table impressively.

They were helped by a Juve slip-up which opened the door, but City were by far the most impressive of the English teams.

Who can they play? PSG, PSV, Benfica, Roma, Dynamo Kyiv, Gent

Who do they want to face? Again, Gent would be ideal, but with Juve out of the way, there are five opponents in this pot you'd expect them to beat with relative ease.

And who is best to avoid? PSG are the only team that ought to threaten Pellegrini's men. Avoid them, and they have one foot in the quarter-finals.

Chelsea - all you need to know

How they got here: It wasn't all plain sailing, but Chelsea managed to top their group with a win over Porto last week. Jose Mourinho's side were helped by the fact that they had Maccabi Tel Aviv - probably the worst side in the tournament, who finished with no points and a goal difference of -15 - in their group.

A solid defence was the key for Chelsea, who conceded just three times in their six games.

Who can they play? PSG, PSV, Benfica, Juventus, Roma, Gent

Who do they want to face? Undoubtedly it's Gent, the weakest side left in the competition on paper. Given their domestic form, Mourinho won't want anyone much tougher!

And who is best to avoid? PSG are the big guns in this part of the draw, so avoiding them is a must, but Juventus - last season's runners-up - would also be pretty disastrous!

Manchester United - all you need to know

How they got here: They didn't

Hoping to draw either Zenit or Wolfsburg, however a draw against Barca would be amazing just to see Super Jack run rings around them again. Should be easier for him this time as this is arguably a Barca team with less quality.

 Arsenal v Barcelona, just as I called it...

I take the piss out of Arsene often enough so it's only fair I congratulate him for stumbling through this fairly easy group with an impressive win tonight. His record of getting through the group stages is superb, it has to be said.

Still, you'll get dumped out of the comp by Barca in the next round despite a spirited effort in the second leg. Giroud will continue his scoring run only to get injured in a few weeks, as will Walcott after being rushed back for this game. You won't win the league either.

I'm not too bothered about going out, but why do we have to play Barcelona AGAIN? A tie against Real or Wolfsburg or someone would have just been so much more fun to watch.

City's game in Kiev will be played in an empty stadium.

Tough draw for Arsenal, even tougher for certain train passengers in Paris.

PSG - Chelsea. As a neutral, hand me the gun. Presumably, everyone will react ridiculously to a bloke failing to get on the Metro again, and we'll all drown in a sea of sanctimoniousness.

Presumably, despite everyone acknowledging that only Barca, Bayern and PSG are better than the English sides, everyone will also lose their shit completely, and seem almost suprised, when Arsenal/Chelsea go out. Somehow, that will indicate that the league is weaker than ever, too. Hmm.

CITY WILL BE USED TO THAT.

Yes, they will. They played a tie in an empty stadium when they visited CSKA Moskva last season.

That's not what you meant, is it?

Perhaps, perhaps not. I will leave it open to debate as it adds a nuanced credibility to my post.

We beat the greatest Barca team in history, with Eboue, Clichy, Djourou, Song and Bendtner on the pitch. With Ozil, Alexis, Ramsey and Cech we have the chance to give it a bloody good go chaps.

Yeah it'll be a good half hearted attempt, you might be competitive in one game maybe at a push. Barca will still win by three overall though.

Making goonerz cry
I fucking hate PSG. Veratti is going to piss all over our midfield again. Great.

Arsenal losing 8-2 on aggregate will help numb to pain.

Quoting this so you can't erase more posts, will be great to look back on when we smash Barca.

Bollocks, It'll either got to pens, or we'll shock them by winning both games.

Hopefully it'll be the racist Chelsea fans that drown in that sea.
