Neymar is fucking gash compared to Messi and Suarez. Makes the wrong descision (or fucks up the correct descision) far too often. Even in the build up to his goal, his pass to Pedro (?) was awful and almost killed the counter. Tier 5 player at best. Luckily for him Brazilian football is seriously lacking in talent atm, and him having a few tricks and looking like a shemale midget is marketable, apparently. Wouldn't be anywhere near a club like Barca on pure footballing ability. Proper little fuckboi he is.

one of the best finals in a long time.

Neymar is better than Suarez was at his age, he's 23 and one of the best. Suarez is 28 and in his prime, 4 years ago everyone was talking about how Suarez couldn't be a striker in the prem because he couldn't finish.

Saw Neymar live when he was playing for Brazil, his movement was absolutely unreal, never seen someone so relentlessly make runs from all positions and angles for that long. Would be a terror to play against.

Also saw Neymar live when he was playing for Brazil. Didn't influence the game at all but he did fall over, cry, and cheat a lot.

Heskey was better than Drogba when they were 23 too.

Anytime I have seen Neymar play, apart from several nice bits of skill and a couple of tidy finishes, he's been distinctly average.

His finishing is dubious, his passing is very often poor and his decision making is quite simply abysmal. The latter two were evident on a few occasions last night.

Suarez is a far better and more accomplished player. Suarez's goal may have been an open goal but with the way the ball came to him, he did well to keep it down.

Suarez is the better player at this moment, but Neymar really has a hell of a potential to become the best player in the world for a season or two. He is best with Brazil tbh, in the ConFed Cup a few years ago he was simply stunning, and had a good World Cup too until his injury. He is infuriating with his finishing and dawdles on the ball a bit conceding possession too many times; but he has improved markedly since coming to Europe a few years back and I can only see him getting even better over the next few seasons. He was better than Messi and Suarez (who didn't look fit) last night imo.

I don't doubt he has serious potential, just sceptical about whether he's going to reach it.

I wasn't overly impressed with him on Saturday either if I'm being totally honest, too many attacks broke down because of his indecisiveness.

Aye, she has no game sense, does she? Not gifted with a footballing brain like the real top class players are. Just 'cause a player is decent or "full of potential" when they're young doesn't mean they're going to steadily improve over time. He's probably already peaked, like Michael Owen did at a similar age. Especially if he gets locked up for the time honoured Barcelona tradition that is tax fraud. You'd tend to believe a stint as someones prison bitch would slow his development somewhat. I mean yeah, over time he might pick up some new freestyle tricks and improve his lacking technique a bit to shift some more Nike products but he's always going to be thick as pig shit on the pitch, you can't just teach the sort of on field awareness you see in the very best players.

Neymar was the best of the triumvirate on the day, but Suarez is the better player currently. If anything, Suarez's ability to thrive despite not being the focal point this season has increased my opinion of him. Iniesta was the best player on the pitch, and for me the better player than Xavi, but I was really impressed by Rakitic and Alba. Pique was immense, too.

There was a distinct lack of composure around the final third for Juventus. The midfield, Vidal in particular, looked sheepish on the ball and distinctly lacked confidence and composure. Marchisio, perennially overlooked, is the only one who played to standard..Juve need to tweak their system to include a more advanced playmaker or a creative winger to solve this issue, something there squad lacks. Dybala should help fix this. But on Saturday, their reliance on Tevez to drop deep and Pogba and Vidal to win the battle at both ends cost them dearly. It isn't the way to beat Barca; I think the Catalans win that match 10/10 times with the way the sides were set-up.

Sad to see the end of the road for both Pirlo and Xavi. I'll always rate the former higher, but that is not to disrespect the latter. In some ways, Xavi coming on and lifting the trophy won by the best attack in football history and Andres Iniesta serves a reminder that Xavi, as brilliant of a metronome player as he was, never shined individually like Pirlo.

Predictable final. I just knew this Barcelona team wouldn't be beat. Juve looked threatening for about twenty minutes. The quality in the Barcelona team is immense, they proved themselves to be too strong and deserving winners. It always helps having the greatest player ever in your side.

Neymar is currently going through the "Is he good enough?" phase, one that every player that isn't evolving in England goes through it seems. I remember similar things being said about Messi in 08.

Neymar scored 40 goals this season, to put that into perspective, that's more than Messi when he first led Barca to the CL. He is also the only player in history to score in the second round, both QFs, SFs and the final of the CL.

I was unconvinced by him last season, but he has really stepped up his game since. His finishing has vastly improved and it's pretty clear when you look at his conversion rate compared to last term. He's still a bit of a show pony but that'll go with age. His defensive contributions have seemingly doubled as well.

He's not as good as Messi and Suarez, but he's definitely going in the right direction. He's not the finished article yet but let's remember he is only 23!

He plays in Spain though mate, I'd be good for 25+ goals in Spain and I can't run for longer than 5 mins. Kanoute and Baptista were fucking ballers in Spain too, still terrible players though. Morientes, Aduriz, Forlan, Guiza, Ballesta, Tristan, Pizzi, Zamorano... all garbage. All of them scored plenty and most of them won the Pichichi award. Dog shit league mate.

Without getting into the leagues debate again, he also finished as top scorer in the CL. Scored against City, Psg, Bayern and Juve, as well as Atleti and Real. Can't be a coincidence surely?

He's quality, but I think his goal stats are inflated playing with 2/3 best players in the world. Would he have scored 40 playing with Alexis and Pedro? I doubt it, despite the obvious quality of those two. It's hard to mark him out of a game when you have to deal with Messi's magic and Suarez's ability to pull defenders out of position. He doesn't break my top 5 players, and I don't even think he's in my top 10. As you've mentioned, he's only 23, so plenty of time yet.

Yeah i mostly agree with that. Obviously he's taken advantage of playing with Suarez and Messi and plenty of those goals were put on a plate for him, but he has still shown some vast improvement compared to last season, especially with his finishing. I think people have a hard time seeing that because he is a pain in the ass (i actually think that's a quality he possesses as well), but he has shown a knack to be decisive in big games at a fairly early age.

We'll see what he does in the Copa without Suarez and Messi, so far he's done pretty well for Brazil, let's not forget that he has plenty of pressure to deal with there, and he has done so admirably well so far imo.

Worth pointing out that he has scored more goals than Messi and Suarez combined in the knockout stages of the CL this year, both are undoubtedly better players, but Neymar is on the right track, only a matter of time before people start realizing that I reckon.
