Depends what way you look at it. Do attendances reflect success or does success reflect attendances? If the Gas had better support down the years would they have spent more time in higher divisions? I'm not saying either way is correct but I'd sway towards the argument that Bristol football clubs have always been shite because the support has never really been there.

Slight bits of success build fanbases that is for sure hence why your slightly bigger than them and Wednesday are than us cos you and they've had that little bit more. We went up in 2006 to the Prem for 1 season and had good crowds ever since despite being dreadful

I'm inclined to agree with GG. If it wasn't our fellow Bristolians we're being compared to, none of us would give a shit and there's only 1 winner in that debate.
Ask Leicester, Bournemouth, Northampton, Burton etc if they care if people call them a big club in their respective divisions.

Bollocks. Bournemouth are in the PL and their ground holds 12k. You can't blame out lack of success on our crowds, we're average more than many teams in this division.

Anyway, agree with GG. Wednesday and United are much more similarly sized than us and Rovers, as mentioned we've been above them for 16 years and are way ahead of them off the playing field as well, not to mention we've spent the majority of our history above them. They're an averaged sized L1 club, we're an averaged sized Championship club. Not remotely comparable.

The point I was trying to make is that for southern clubs, Rotherham isn't a particularly appealing trip WTGR, and I'm sure you think the same about us lot.

That wasn't what Gerry Gow said though, he said only Wednesday and United sell out to us when infact any northern or midlands side tend to sell us out.

I like Bristol as an away weekend btw, I'd sooner go on a away weekend down south than in Burnley or somewhere shite like that.

So another season ends with Leeds topping the away support averages, well done Leeds (though I think boro's was more impressive). The big question is can they do it again next season with the Geordies and Villa in the league, also believe if we have another good season our support will be better numbers than this season. Our away figures have been very poor this season, mainly because we haven't been very good. If you compare it to last seasons figures (or league 1 season) our figures of considerably higher because we had good seasons. If it shows anything though it shows how fickle our fanbase is mind.

Away figures aren't really my thing though If Walkley still has our away totals from last year or the year before, it would be interesting to see how they compare.

Also a mention to how much we have been shafted by SKY this season. We are the most televised football club in the country this season, lost count of how many of our games have been changed to shit kick off times that have damaged our numbers.

Depends on the context, I'd argue Boro averaging 2500 from the area they are and the bigger mileage factor is more impressive than 2,800 that Leeds get from a far more expansive fan base.

3,413 midweek miles travelled by us in the Conference, nearly half of our league games thanks to the FA crappy Trophy taking priority over league fixtures, thank the lord we have finally escaped that shitter of a league!

ofcourse but then you need to think how many we would possibly sell given the chance and in boros position, i'm not kidding when I say if given the chance and a top 2 brilliant season we'd manage 3,500 average , I've seen first hand the demand for our away tickets when we get allocated 2k or less
