Tough one away at QPR, looks like both teams have injuries. Doubt Devine will go straight into the XI when everyone else has trained all week.

Potts, Brady, Thompson, and Keane missing for us.

I'd guess we'll line up like this:

Iversen
Offiah, Gibson, Hughes
Whiteman
Valentin, McCann, Frokjaer, Small
Osmajic, Smith

Walton, Lindsay, Storey, Vukcevic, Thordarson, Devine, Carroll, Okkels, Jebbison

on paper and easier start to last season where we had Leeds, Boro, Burnley away... Looks like we're without Bishop for this one, but on the plus side. Murphy is fit and we have a proper back four. Segicic is one to look out for in this match as he has had a terrific pre season. Let him shoot at your peril

Young ozzie forward 20 year old Tommy Waddingham top scorer in pre season will probably start. Not 100% convinced Dozzell and Swift compliment each other, but new midfielders Le Roux and Kosznofszy have no featured in pre season due to late arrivals. I'll take a draw if you offered, but I think we have tons more pace with Biachini and Spurs youngster Yang on the bench. I think it might be a tight 2-1 to Pompey

A couple of surprise selections today. Mousinho lying about Bishops fitness, and Murphy picked up a slight hammy strain and was touch and go for the match. Was fearing the worst. We were the more dominant side for an hour. Oxford hit us on the break a few times and Bianchini should have got 2 goals in the first 20 mins. A header which was not attacked and a very wasteful limp effort after being played through by Lang. Brannagan for reason played an over hit back pass which Bishop ran onto Cummings did well to read it, it fell nicely to new aussie signing Segicic who picked out the corner despite lunging Oxford defenders. A soft penalty shout on another day may have been given for Oxford. Pompey still dominant in the 2nd half and had a few decent opportunities. Just past the hour we got jittery and the wind picked up which didn't help. Vaulks at every opportunity threw 30 yard throw ins our way which has us camped in our own half. Managed to head away Oxfords set pieces with fairly comfortable ease in the end. So good to have a first choice back four having had 14 different cb partnerships last season and played Rbs and central midfielders at the back.
