With most bookies releasing their odds for the Championship top goalscorer now, who would you pick as a top 5? I'll go for

Benik Afobe
Chris Wood
Darren Bent
Joe Garner
Jelle Vossen

Should he remain with us and isn't sold, Chris Martin will score more than Bent.

Martin will be top scorer if he doesn't get injured for a third of the season again.

Andre Gray could be a good outside bet. Had a great first season at this level last season getting used to the league and is looking very sharp so far in preseason.

I'd not be surprised to see Tom Ince up there even though he's a midfielder.

Darren Bent and Chris Martin are obvious choices. I guess it depends on who plays the most, to be honest.

For a bit of insight, here's the top 10 players goal per minute rate who scored more than 10 goals overall.

Brett Pitman - 120 minutes per goal
Darren Bent - 121 minutes per goal
Rudy Gestede - 135 minutes per goal
Benik Afobe - 138 minutes per goal
Dayrl Murphy - 150 minutes per goal
Chris Martin - 156 minutes per goal
Britt Assombalonga - 161 minutes per goal (if he plays next season)
Jordan Rhodes - 167 minutes per goal
Tom Ince - 176 minutes per goal
Kenwyne Jones - 187 minutes per goal

Based on that, I wouldn't be surprised to see Pitman up there. 33/1 makes him a very good bet!

That's a great ratio, but I'm not sure Pitman will be a regular starter so I'd save your money.

Think it's because there's a chance he might go to another league. It's simlar with Charlie Austin, i've seen him quoted at 20/1 which is great, but he is unlikely to stay.

Suerly Derbyshire was better than half of them...

not slagging Rhodes off, but he does seem to need 5-10 penalties to break the 20 goals mark,

He's scored in every friendly so far, so I imagine will be in contention for a start!

I know Sears only scored 9 but I'd be interested to see how many minutes per goal he has! He started on the bench a lot

I think Sears will be our top scorer if he plays enough, but with Pitman's signing it looks like he might be 4th choice.

Think it's fantastic to think Pitman is our fourth choice though! cant remember a time where we've had 4 strikers of their quality

Might as well put money on Rhodes now, he's not leaving us.
