Charlton managed to continue their fantastic unbeaten start with a very hard fought win against a quality watford side at the Valley.
Against the run of play, Charlton were in front after 3 minutes. Jordan Cousins worked the ball well to in form Igor Vetokele, who was fouled by Gomes.
As he has done already this year, Yoni Buyens slotted home from 12 yards in front of a sell out Watford end.
The game was almost tied a minute after however. A good dummy by Vydra left Deeny open on the edge of the box, but only managed to hit the edge of the post.
Watford threatened all game but were denied by two good stops by Henderson, solid teamwork from Charlton and the referee. A goal was disallowed in the second half for offside.
With six minutes of added time the charlton fans were holding their breath, but when Anya sliced a cross into his own fans in the 96th minute, a sigh of relief was heard around the valley. The points were secure.
Overall a solid team display from Charlton, with Watford wondering how they didn't win the game.
Bob Peeters men march on.
