Hmm.

Not too sure what to expect with this one, I thought Charlton had had a decent start but then looked at the table to see they're only 2 points and places above us, so it has become a bigger game. Need at least a point to get us going really, we were so poor on Saturday and I just can't see where the goals are gonna come from.

Doyle is back available after missing against his parent club and I personally would like to see him put straight into the team in place of May who I don't rate (although he wasn't too bad on Saturday actually) however I'm not too sure Hugill is fit enough to play twice in 4 days.

Team I would like to see:

Pickford

Woods
Clarke (if fit, no idea what will happen if he isn't, presumably Woods at CB and Vermijl RB)
Wright
Cunningham

Browne
Welsh

Reach
Johnson
Gallagher

Doyle

350 away fans at best

Yeah, unless Huntington makes a miraculous recovery we will be playing Woods at centre back.

Can't see us keeping a clean sheet with that defence and we don't really score so...

A win here would be massive but I think we might have to wait a while longer yet.

Aye I was only being tongue in cheek. I think we're going down in all honesty but I don't think he's in any immediate danger.
Yeah, I'm starting to come around to that line of thinking. Still plenty of time to turn it around though. Starting with a win tomorrow.

Saturday was pretty poor wasn't it!

I thought both Hugil and May offered absolutely nothing and I would drop them both to the bench tonight and go for a similar line up to Tom.

Doyle supported by Reach Gally DJ and Browne is much more likely to grab us a goal then may and hugil.

I'm the opposite. I still think we will be OK. We need Garner back and as soon as he bags a goal,we will be off. Keep the faith.

As for tonight. Can't see us scoring so hoping for a 0-0. Bolton is where our season starts a week on Saturday.

May is a bit shite isn't he?

Where did you lot play him? I just can't see him as a striker at this level, he doesn't look to have the game for it.

I'd rather we had a look at using him out wide so he can get the ball into feet more easily and run at some fullbacks.

We played him upfront and out wide as he tended to drift there anyway.

Strange as Stevie May scored for fun at St Johnstone. The standard of the SPL isn't that much worse than the Championship I'd have thought.

I'm not worrying yet to be honest.

If we had an extra three points on the board then I don't think there would be any of this moaning from some supporters.

The Kettle-raping against Wolves probably cost us 2pts and losing Paddy McCarthy within 8 minutes against Wednesday ensured getting a draw was a massive ask. Also thought we were the better team against Ipswich and were only beaten by a great hit from outside the area.

I don't like talking about 'luck' but we could quite easily be 4pts better off there.

We have been very unlucky regarding injuries.

Losing Beckford was a huge huge blow and we have yet replaced him. Then losing Gallagher was just a big a blow in my opinion as we all know Garner thrives off his delivery. Then obviously losing Garner for 3 games on top of that has massively effected us.

That's without mentioning the defensive problems we now have.

If we had had our strongest 11 out I honestly feel we could be sat very comfortable in mid table. But we all knew we didn't have any sort of strength in depth before the season started.

Onwards and upwards.

Yes he is Gash. I'm usually decent at judging a player and I hope he proves me wrong but I see another Andy Smith or Simon Lynch on the cards

May hasn't been as bad as Joe Garner was in his first 15 or so games for us. I fucking hated him.

Bobbin' any advice for parking?

Generally quite crap to be honest.

There is a couple of retail parks but have strict time limits, if you're there early enough, there are a few side roads off Woolwich Road where you can park. Failing that, you can try and park at the top of Charlton Church Lane or around Charlton Park, which will result in a 15-20 minute walk.

I have to be honest, there may be other options but I have always lived a couple of train stops away so it's not something I've ever worried about.

Football ground guide will more or less agree

Leave the M25 at Junction 2 and follow the A2 towards London. After around 12 miles the road splits with the A2 going off to the left and the right hand lanes becoming the A102. Proceed on the A102 towards the Blackwall Tunnel. Leave the A102 at the next slip road (sign posted Woolwich & Ferry A206). At the bottom of the slip road turn right at the traffic lights towards Woolwich/Charlton. Proceed along the A206 passing the 'The Antigallican pub on your right (the ground and away entrance are diagonally behind this pub). For the main club entrance and car park go straight over the next roundabout, passing a retail park on the left. At the next roundabout, go right around it turning back on yourself along the A206. Then take the first left into Charlton Road (beware that there is a seven feet width restriction along this road). Cross over the railway and after passing the Royal Oak pub on the right, turn right into Harvey Gardens. The ground is down on the left.

Parking at the ground is for permit holders only. There is street parking, but due to a local residents parking scheme, not in close vicinity to the ground or Charlton railway station. However as you come off the A2 onto the A206, there is some street parking to be had on your right, in a couple of streets, before you reach the Rose of Denmark pub.

Colin Gilham informs me; 'There is some street parking to be had around the industrial estates in the area, in Westmoor Street, Eastmoor Street (the very road where the club was apparently formed 100 years ago!), Warspite Road and Ruston Road. If you are coming up the Woolwich Road from the the Blackwall Tunnel, then as you go past the ground, the industrial estates are on the left hand side.

As for the game, I can almost guarantee that Preston will leave with something, we are atrocious.

Cheers anyway mate, parked up a side street near the Sainsburys. In the away end already, couldn't find any pubs at all haha

At least Wright made it, still got Callum Woods playing at centre back though, grim.

That's a positive midfield, not a tackle between them though.

Can't sit back tonight.

Wow. When you said you were atrocious, I thought you were exaggerating. This will come back to bite me probably.
