Jon Obi Mikel has been calling for Hiddink to be given another year, and I'd go with that. The rise in performance level has been steady and is now looking very good with the chance of winning trophies. The club have done well with a lot of different managers, but would Antonio Conte be one too many? A man who does not know the PL and does not know the club? Similar Simeone who doesn't even speak English. If I was the Chelsea board, I'd stick with a man who has the player's respect, is getting them playing compact, well balanced, attractive football, and a man who knows the club and knows the PL.

Simeone! Imagine Pep, Jose and Simeone all managing in the Premier League at the same time. There would be question marks over him in terms of getting that Chelsea side to work their bollocks off in the same way that Atleti too but there are also question marks over whether Pep can get City to play the style of football he prefers with the squad he will inherit.

It'd be great!

Interesting so far. I'd go with PL experience, and it can take a year for a new foreign manager to get used to the PL. Simeone is a very good manager though granted. Di Matteo? In one respect he's the most successful manager Chelsea have had. Two major trophies in less than a year, including the elusive and coveted CL. But, I didn't think he could manage big players like Hazard. A great guy though. Also not convinced that Mourhino will be at Man Utd next year, although others think he will. Just not their style (imo).

Hiddink has just over half a year of Premier League experience, it might not take much longer for the others to adapt (well, assuming any of the candidates can speak English). If one of Conte or Simeone become available, Chelsea should 100% go for them over Hiddink. It's a potential long-term solution over a stop-gap. Most teams have an uptick in form once a new manager or interim comes in. I don't really believe Hiddink will have what it takes to challenge for a Premier League title which is what this Chelsea squad should be doing.

It's an intriguing situation. Personally these "Mediterranean" managers that keep getting mentioned don't fill me with confidence. Yes, they have good CVs, but I don't know if any of them speak English and they'd be out of their comfort zone in the Premier league and England in general. Okay, so Pochettino came with only a little La Liga experience and didn't speak good English and has done well, but I just don't think a guy like Conte would be a hit at Chelsea. In fact, Simeone is the only one I'd consider out of Conte, Allegri (not leaving Juve anyway), Emery and him.

I believe Pellegrini will retire plus in some ways he's done the bare minimum at City.

Hiddink has already said he will retire after Chelsea. Maybe it could be after another year, but somehow I'm getting a feeling both sides are lukewarm to the idea.

Chelsea should hire Van Gaal just for the banter.

Hiddink has also won a major trophy during his last stint at the club, and it could mean JT stays for another year. Could go either way that one.. There's no denying that he is a huge leader on the field, and knows how to win a PL. Not so good in Europe having said that..

If I were Roman I'd be throwing all my money at Simeone until he gives in

Rafa is avaialble

Rafa back to where he's loved the most, Los Hermanos Nevilles y El Señor Giggs for the dream triumvirate.

In the meantime, Nicky Butt can drive around Longsight and Wythenshaw, bundling any promising youngsters straight onto the first team coach. Scholes can drive it.

Done. Thank me later, Woodward.
