I was a big fan of the Battersea plan. I was always told there was no room for expansion at Stamford Bridge....thankfully it looks like they've found a way to do it.

Both ideas have shown the club have no intention of building just another bland stadium...that was my main worry.

I think I'll pop down tomorrow with my old man to have a look at the little exhibition they've got running this week.

everytime I see a great looking proposal I'm always very cynical, I can't remember one that actually was true to the original design. I hope this will.

This is great news. I'm not sure the RFU are too keen on us using Twickenham for three years so hopefully we can use Wembley. Capacity would have to be limited to the lower tiers (50,000) as they have limits on the number of big (full capacity) events that they can host but that should be fine.

If the developments match the plans, that's going to be a pretty damn impressive stadium.

It's about time Chelsea had a stadium that shows the size of the club.
I agree. We've pretty much established ourselves as the biggest in London. We're one of the major forces in Europe now so yes you're right it's great to have a stadium that matches our size.

A few little pointers from the consultation/exhibition. 4 stands which will be similar looking. No hospitality behind either goals. Away fans will be in upper tier. No kop like stand due to stadium height regulations (locals want light to their houses). A few locals are against there being a stadium there at all (Gooners).

"Cathedral Of Football".

I think I'll puke. Nice pics though, but it'll probably have little more than a passing resemblance in the end.

“The Bordeaux stadium has a very southern spirit,” says Herzog. “It is all about refinement and elegance – things that would be totally absurd in Chelsea.”

Maybe it's just my phone, but are there any actual design mock ups that don't look like early photographs from 19th century?

Not just your phone, the pictures are awful. You'd think with the millions they must be spending on the design stage they could produce some decent pictures.

I agree.

It's hard to really tell what it will look like at all. Either they're trying not to give much away or they haven't got a finished design.

We have bid 11 million a season to use Wembley (3 more than spurs) while SB is rebuilt.
'Chelsea took away our Champions League dream, stole Willian from under our noses, and have now gone for the hat-trick with Wembley - Tottenham Hotspur fan view'

Just had a thought, with west ham moving into the Olympic stadium and ours and spurs' redevelopments there will be 4 club grounds in London with 50k+ capacity. Can't be anywhere else that comes close to that.

London is the future of English football. It won't be long until we have a top 4 of London based clubs. What a day that will be.

Chelseas new home is going to Kingsmeadow. I heard that they are going to buy it once AFC Wimbledon move back to Plough Lane. Maybe we should just swap, oh hang on Chelsea wouldn't be able to fill Kingsmeadow.

In related news, Tottenham have announced that their new stadium will have a capacity of 61,000, just over 500 more than the Emirates.

The new designs for the new Spurs ground look fantastic. Is it possible that with our new stadium, the redisigned Olympic stadium and now the new Spurs stadium that Arsenal will have the worst ground in the capital from the Premier League?
