Koscielny playing him onside there (along with two or three others). Stand still and it's 0-0. He's a yard and a half deeper than the line.

Suarez wasn't that bad. No way.

He was extremely sneaky but i don't remember him being as physical as Costa.

Mate, he's bitten three different players on a football pitch.
And not once has he gotten away with it, nor drawn an advantage from it. He's like a child who can't control himself, which is why he bites. It's not systematical, but rather completely illogical and shows a man with a psychological disorder if anything. When the pressure's extremely high, he bites. I'd argue he'll make it four before his career is over, because if he had any chance controlling it I don't think he would have thrown away a world cup QF for it. Because there wasn't any way he was going to get away with it, let alone think he would after his previous two bans.

On the other hand, you got Costa. He's not impulsive, he does it systematically in the sense that you know he'll do something awful whenever he's on the pitch in a big game. It comes down to your definition of a c*nt, I suppose.

This is such an Arsenal thing to do. I don't even support them and I find it frustrating.

Oh and what was Monreal doing just then?

This is absurd. Suarez is cynical as fuck in much the same way Costa is. He's always chipping away at opponents, attempting to wind them up (see racism-gate for one such example) and frequently resorts to outright cheating in order to gain an advantage (diving, feigning injury etc). Bit weird that Liverpool fans are still playing the Suarez as misunderstood, troubled genius card.

That's not what I said. I said the biting isn't comparable because it isn't in any way systematical.

“It’s not pre-planned — it’s a very spontaneous, emotional response,” is how Thomas Fawcett, a University of Salford sports psychologist, explained Suarez’s 2013 bite to the BBC. “He’s doing it on impulse.”

Never understood why supporters chant the name of a guy that's just been sent off.

Seems to me like Arsenal just get flustered too easily. Or to put it another way, they're not a team cut out to be bastards, or deal with players who are better at being bastards than them.

At least we had Howard Webb's theory on why Costa was subbed. That's that mystery resolved.

That's unfair. You can't blame Arsenal for referring incompetence. The ref does his job, a job that was VERY easy to do and it's Chelsea down to 10 not Arsenal we've got a different game on our hands.

You can blame Gabriel for his reaction. That's not the referee's fault.

Chelsea fans supposedly chanting "You should have died, you should have died, that day at Reading, you should have died" to Cech...

You're right in a sense but at the same time Gabriel needs to keep his head . I listened to the first half on the radio rather than watching on the TV so haven't seen it properly, but it seems he received one yellow for the incident alongside Costa, and then another for being petulant. Costa might incite him, and yes Mike Dean should have handled it better (and maybe sent Costa off before hand), but Monreal isn't a child, he should be able to handle himself and failing that, his teammates should be restraining him.

It's not just that though, after the second yellow for Cazorla, Arsenal just seemed flustered and overawed almost. The noise ramped up, the 'wahey's' started from the Chelsea fans and Arsenal lost composure. A simple clearance from Koscielny was given away and almost led to a Chelsea goal - for a side of Arsenal's quality that should not be happening. I don't mean to have a pop at Arsenal, because I find it just as frustrating to be quite honest but you're playing against Costa, you know he's a bastard, why are you even entertaining him if you're Gabriel?

Riling players up - like it or not - is gamemanship and something top teams should be prepared for. Arsenal knew who they were up against, Gabriel tried to play Costa at his game and subsequently lost. The refereeing was ovvi terrible and Costa shuld have been off, but you can only influence the things you have control over from Arsenal's perspective.

Still, was shit watching Chelsea win in the manner that they did.
