Everton failed to win in their only two big tests so far this season, against Spurs and City. That won't change here against a Chelsea side that has finally found its feet with four league victories on the bounce under their belt.
2-1 victory for the home side leaving Koeman with 1 win in 7.
Id consider going three at the back with Gueye suspended. Besic and McCarthy are injured, so we dont really have anyone else available who can play his position effectively, especially in a game where I expect we'll be doing a fair bit of defending.

Jagielka--Williams--Funes Mori
Coleman------------------------------Oviedo
Barry
Bolasie--Barkley--Mirallas

Wouldnt mind Lennon getting a game ahead of Mirallas as well, but I cant see that happening.
Too hit and miss. Likewise Mirallas. Both of them seem to absolutely nothing when they start games, come on as sub and make a difference, start the next game and do nothing! It's turning into a bit of a cycle. Bolasie by comparison can be quite erratic, but he's always involved and keeps coming back for more. Lennon too has barely played this season and has nowhere near the ability Mirallas and Deulofeu do, but he's way more hardworking and productive.
Yeah Hazard is playing better than ever right now. He looks as good as Mourinho said he was before he was a rat. David Luiz doesn't look too bad either, considering he was the worst signing of the summer.
That was one of the most spineless performances I've ever seen. First 20 minutes was all something of nothing, then our defending was absolutely non existent and we let in 2 goals in a minute. From then on, we totally capitulated. Chelsea were very good, I'm not denying that. But in those circumstances, all the more reason to work harder to stop them from embarrassing us. The level of marking for all the goals was worse than schoolboy stuff, there were 3 or 4 Chelsea players queuing up to score each of the goals, and Jagielka (missed last week and we won and kept our first clean sheet in weeks...coincidence?) let Costa just take the piss out of him. Walked past him like he wasn't even there for the 5th goal.
Said in the summer I expected mid table because I still think Koeman has more rebuilding to do. I don't think he realised himself how much until now. The one word that summed us up under Martinez I always thought was weak. This collection of players don't work hard enough, let themselves get bullied by other teams (not just the big strong ones like Chelsea, but everyone) and have no mental strength. We have the kind of players who on their day and when things are going well for them, we're boss. But we can't stand up to a challenge. Yes, 2-0 down away to an in form side after 20 minutes is a bad situation. But how many times do you see a team get pasted first half, then sort themselves put at half time and the there are no more goals second half. They might even sneak a late consolation goal themselves. That last night was oh woe is us, I wanna go home, be arsed trying to stop Hazard and Costa making a right c*** of me!
