I can't see it happening tonight, but I also thought only losing 2-0 at City would be a reasonable result.
We basically played 6-3-1 at City. Tonight is a different challenge though, different styles of play. We'll park the bus, but surely we can't keep another clean sheet... and we don't score many
My biggest hope is that Wagner has been the expert at getting results when we need them throughout his reign.
Such a wonderful result to come home to. Just need a draw at home to Brighton now, which means a lot of frustration will be replaced by nervousness if it stays level late in.
First of all, well done Huddersfield on staying up, its an astonishing achievement what Wagner has done there these two seasons, and they seem such a decent lot too, congratulations.
Secondly thanks for helping us out too! Wagner has helped his mate Klopp big time tonight!
I don't think we were ever in much danger of qualifying for the top 4 tbh but Conte pretty much sabotaged our chances with that stupid lineup. Could argue, quite reasonably, that the first XI that started ought to be winning these sort of matches but in games in which three points are a must you simply play your best side and he didn't for some inexplicable reason.
And he's done it again. What a guy. Reminder that he's only 2.5 years into his managerial career, and he's just secured Premier League survival with a game to spare with draws at this seasons champions and last seasons champions, with the cheapest squad in the league that squeezed through the play offs last season after finishing with a minus goal difference! Shall I go on!?!
That night is right up there with Wembley. Some say it was a better achievement... considering the gulf between us and our last 2 opponents, it's hard to disagree. We've had an incredible 2 years with memories that will last a life time. That goal line scramble with about 5 or 6 blocked shots, the post hit and a wonder save from Lossl was incredible. I've never seen a team put their bodies on the line like that before. After a season where we've, understandably, lost a lot of games and got a horrendous goal difference, it's quite something to still have such spirit and togetherness. Couldn't be prouder.
