Go for it.

Both sides smarting after the FA Cup but Chelsea had a chance to get over it by beating Liverpool, but will a game with extra time, a possible injury for Fabregas and a potential suspension for Costa hurt them?

I'd like to see City get something from the game but they are playing poorly just now and I think Chelsea will be buoyed by the League Cup result and will want to now put some distance between both sides.

Wish it was another cup tie, that Liverpool game was brilliant. This one will be measured, only an early goal from City will make this any good to watch.

Has Costa appealed? I suspect it will be overturned.

He has. Would be surprised if it was to be honest.

Chelsea must be gambling on the hearing running over into the weekend so he can be available for the City game, because when the ban is upheld it'll be extended to four games.

I don't get how he can appeal.

If the referee has looked at the video and said 'yes, I would have sent him off' who can they appeal to? Are they going to get him to watch it again and say they'll be his best mate if he changes his mind?

Jose cancelling the presser makes him look like a prick tbh. And anyway, doesn't he normally love a bit of the old MIND GAMES?

Three games isn't it? It won't matter though, they'll still have too much on the day.

Absolutely massive boost for City with both Costa and Fabregas missing.

Can't wait for us to get stuck into this shower of thundercunts. We won't miss Costa as much as some of you are making out....Remy/Drogba are well capable on their day...and tbh Remy running at that clown Kompany spells problems for City.

Ramires will play in midfield with Matic....He was superb against Liverpool and definitely protects our defence more than Fabregas.

2-1 Chels.

Yeh perhaps a bit of a blessing in disguise Fabregas is missing this. Obviously he's quality going forward but defensively he just stands there and watches people run past him.

Ye. We started to control the Liverpool game when Ramires came on.

Obviously I'd rather have Cesc playing but I don't think this is such a bad thing. Costa not playing might hurt us....but the two striker behind him are just as deadly when given the chance.

Do Chelsea fans in general tend to prefer Fabregas as the nr 8 or the nr 10?

FYI it's in 1FF's constitution that you can't do any of those long tactics posts. Just in case you'd started drafting one.

He's probably better as a number 10 but Oscar is far too good to be sitting on the bench so him playing deeper is alright. In the big games I like to see Ramires/Mikel play alongside Matic.

So who goes to the bench in the big games, Oscar or Fabregas?

I always felt Fabregas has a bit of the curse of being neither a clear cut 10 or a clear cut 8. He's not strong enough defensively to be a world class nr 8, and his end product (especially scoring goals) isn't quite there to be a world class nr 10.

Depends who we're playing really. Last year we were fantastic against the good teams, well drilled and pressing etc. which Fabregas isn't great at. We struggled against shit teams with 10 behind the ball and that's where he can really excel, breaking them down with a great pass/assist.

No Costa, No Toure. So it evens out.

I don't mind Ramires over Cesc as he can play some role in defence.
