So, this is another massive game for Cheltenham following their win last week over a poor Tranmere side, but then having lost to the unpredictable Carlisle on Tuesday night.

I dare say the 2 clubs mentioned above and York would be quite happy for us to get something from the game for their own sakes, and it would still be a pretty big deal for us if we can avoid defeat. We are currently 7 clear with a better goal difference, but lose and all of a sudden that relegation spot comes back into the rear-view mirror.

We won away for the first time since 1784 on Tuesday night with a surprise with at Newport, so we will have a bit of confidence, and I am hopeful that we will have 300 or so away fans in attendance.

We seem to be slowly picking up under Murray - we have been good away and played (at times) some alright stuff - Lambe and Ravenhill (rested for Tuesday) have been decent in midfield, and with Kee starting to show some stuff, it is encouraging signs.

Out of interest, do Cheltenham have any fans on here? they all seem to have got lost when we moved over?

Anyway 1-1 draw

Only 300 for such a big game?

Surely you Mansfield fans would take a draw?

I think I would, yeah. Looking at the fixtures, I don't reckon every team below us will pick up points and keeping the gap as it is between us and Cheltenham would be useful too. Even playing the 2nd worst side in the league (statistically), with our away form this season I'd take a draw.

Hopefully come 5pm we'll be coming away with at least a point and that we don't revert back to our standard away performances and result. COYS

Cheltenham are very very lucky. Should of been 3-1. Hit the bar, hit the post and had the most obvious penalty not given.

Ref was 10000& on their side and its sickening. Actually having the crowd shout out how many yards he took the wall back and him stopping at 7 yards and looking towards the crowd and walking the mansfield wall 11 yards back. And also giving cheltenham free kicks when their player clearly fouled a stags player. This part of football needs cutting out and cheating refs need punishing.

We sounded like we got a bad deal from the ref tbh, but I didn't go so its all relative.

We did what we needed and got the point, Cheltenham were awful at ours and sounded it today

Regularly read this forum and never registered but seen the posts on here about the game and thought I had to. Didn't think we got lucky at all as the game was pretty even with both sides balancing each other out. Thought you were pretty dominant for a bit around your goal but apart from that not really and we had a few decent chances at the end of the game. Agree about the ref being awful though, always the case with Trevor Kettle!

I didn't go today but that is how I heard on the radio, an even game but we had the better chances to win it.

I was there and I think it was an even game. Two poor teams really not much quality on show. Ref was rubbish like they are every week.

We lowered ourselves to their standard, simple. Did enough to win it.

I wouldnt say it was even at all, Cheltenham came forward a lot but couldn't get through, the goal was lucky and ours was a lovely well worked move with a great finish.

Lowered yourself from those dizzy heights of 19th? Not how I saw the game and goals at all but fair enough it's all about opinions

Cheltenham looked and sounded like a side going back down and it's going to take them a good effort to survive this, but we would have taken a point before the game and that's what we got.

Happy days

Has Manshit ran further than 5 yards without either falling over or gassing out yet? Couldn't believe it when you signed him.

Haha I don't think I've ever seen a footballer fall over so much. He hasn't actually done too badly in the few games he's featured in but he's so unfit/overweight that he offers very little, crazy that he played in the championship!

The thing is, there is clearly 'something' in there. But nobody has been able to get it out of him for so many years now that he will never return to anything like a proper footballer. Which is frustrating as there is quality in him. Sadly, he's now so unfit that he can't get himself fit, nor motivate himself to get fit so his football career is now one big cycle.

Sign for club...based on previous potential....start a few games....play badly...manager uses poor fitness excuse and benches him...he comes on as a sub...doesn't look interested because a sub appearance for a struggling team doesn't get him going...drops down the pecking order...gets released on the basis he can't get himself fit... signs for club at lower tier...rinse and repeat.

The issue is, if he gets much lower - he will be playing pub football in a few bloody seasons! Useless lump of shite.

Good point, remember watching a youtube video with some of his goals and he looks like a great player so it's a shame to see him now. I think we'll probably release him in the summer now and surely another English club won't take a gamble on him after all the chances he's had?

We were shocking until we went 442. I hope Murray ships half of this lot out in the Summer. Id of taken the point beforehand though after Tuesday night.

Bury at home next. Tough game but winnable!
